Hello all,

NWN crashes when I load the game, this happened 3 days ago, completely out of the blue. I am not that computer savvy and am not sure how to fix it. The error is that "NWN has encountered a problem and must close. Sorry for the inconvenience."

I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the game several times, and have downloaded and installed the critical rebuild, it still crashes.

I run xp, and I am completely out of options...

Any suggestions?

Ok found a fix, but now my char is unrendered as are all other npc's and creatures.

When you say un-rendered, do you mean maybe all solid block white with no textures?

Many graphics issues can be resolved with the installation of the microsoft Direct X 9.0c SDK (software developers kit). This has many extras in it that will enhance the way Direct X works and can be co-installed with any other Direct X you may have. See the microsoft web site and search there for the Direct X 9.0c SDK - download and install from there.

NOTE NWN must be installed as ADMINISTRATOR and run in admin mode.
