Hi hexaae,

I already see two problems....WIn10 and Italian :D (sorry couldn't resist ;) )

just to be clear ;)

You can run and play the game without any problem?
You can save your games without any problems?
Did you install the game in program files (86) (or however it is called in Italian ;) ) ?

For the last part, if you did so, install it somewhere else and try again. Windows is notorious to have problems with this folder, permission rights and similar. I always use like d:\goggames\whatever

EDIT: And IF I would have not been looking so much onto the drivers/Win-version, I would have seen that you indeed did NOT install it in the default, says right at the top :D

Windows 10 x64 FCU 16299.98, Nvidia driver 388.43 WHQL, GeForce Experience 3.11.0.73

Random crash on quit reported in the Reliability Monitor still reproducible.

I saw someone reporting this on Nvidia's driver forums, so this is probably a driver issue. Nvidia drivers since 387.92 seem to be less than great with both NWN games, 385.69 should work fine.

Yep, it seems so. If you see my msg #1 also reports the module at fault is "nvwgf2um.dll" wich is an Nvidia driver component.... :-\
I'm trying many manual fixes, stay tuned... Will report if I'll find a valid workaround to avoid annoying crash on quit.

Are you by any chance using IE?

Did they re-introduce another old issue into Win10?

"My fix was to disable hardware accelleration in IE: Internet Options->Advanced->under Accelerated graphics check the box "Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering". This fixed the issue for me. "

and:

although I am not a fan of downloading other software and never heard of this driverexplorer......

Another one......and wouldn't be the first time that Antivirus is causing straaaange behaviours:

related to McAfee and Spybot

As you only have this problem on occasion, it seems not be a general issue, like with drivers in general, this should cause it to crash all the time if it would be a general driver issue. So more likely it has to do with like AV or IE issues

And only things I can see interacting on this level is AV (Antivirus) or IE, me thinks.

And before you dismiss the re-introduction hypothesis ;), it has already happened, here on GOG, sorry no link but the fix was to implement a solution from like Win7? WIn8? to get the game working again.

Ehrm, thanks... but your posts are inaccurate, nonsesne, and based on wrong assumption and not useful at all sorry.
I'm a very advanced user and professional software beta-tester able to fix games as a hobby also through Microsoft ACT applying Windows internal shims, so, no offense, but your suggestions are not useful to me (AV newbie conflicts and IE problems? LOL, sorry).
The problem is reproducible for everyone with the same Win + Nvidia driver version, but I'm one of those rare picky guy who cares if crashes are silently logged in Reliability Monitor on quit even without evident crash requester pop-ups by Windows... 98% of users simply quit the game and continue doing what they were doing since no apparent problem occurred especially because it happens after the game fully quit not breaking gameplay, and is totally silent. You'll just notice a pointer spinning animation for half a second after the game screen is closed and nothing else.

This is probably (another) bug of recent Nvidia drivers issues with Win 10 FCU anyway... and we'll have to just wait for a driver fix.

P.S.
I'm using the original retail version of the game, exe version 1.0.23.1765, but I guess GOG version is the same...

Scuse me?

If you fail to read properly and now accusing me off racism and similar and ignoring FACTS, not by problem.

I suggest that you do re-read what I posted before spouting more nonsense, would you?
Otherwise I suggest some reading courses with PROPER teachers.

And if you don't understand jokes, again not MY problem. There are classes for this as well.

And for your so incredible so called knowledge, just a few facts:
was about to post links......
But me thinks lost on you anyway......

You already miss the whole point, as it seems to be usual for you, right?

Error c0000005 is access violation

and >IF< you would have ANY idea at all, you would know that this can be caused by a lot of ways.
Root cause for all those, WINDOWS as Win is responsible for addressing memory. But hey, let's ignore facts, right?

But again.....lost on you.....

As you stated, it only happens 1/3 of the time, again IF you would have any knowledge at all, this indicates that it is NOT a driver issue. Because than most likely it would happen ALL the time. But again lost on you, right?

ANY issue not reproducible ALL the time, excludes driver issues. The game nor the driver is only loaded 1/3 of the time, so how did you say: " inaccurate, nonsesne," <<< yep....true for you

And if you would have any idea of how logs are created (especially on Windows) you would know that only the last application is getting faulted despite that other programs/handles might be responsible for it. But hey, let's ignore this, right?

I am not saying that it might not be the driver, but with all information YOU posted it can be safely EXCLUDED!

Software and computers are the definition of insanity, they will reproduce those errors 100% of the time UNLESS you change the situation. And 66% not crashing means that in 66% of the cases something ELSE is NOT involved. Which again excludes the driver!!!

But hey, let's ignore facts, right?

But hey, instead just go around and attack people trying to help you, yep that sounds right.....or NOT...
Please I don't need your so called "help" and your "jokes". Really.
And no, you're wrong about your assumption it can only be a bug in Windows only when an Access Violation occurs.

I already told you what you need.....

And I don't need to be falsely accused (again).

And nice posting some, to reuse your phrase, " inaccurate, nonsesne," again.

Have a nice day.

I just had a catastrophic failure quitting NVN Diamond (first play, second time I started the game). Windows couldn't even bring up Task Manager so I had to reset. Any ideas on how I can investigate?
