Bought this a few hours ago, For the original game + 3 expansion packs I find the price very reasonable. Also you have the lack of a copy protection, a comfortable installer and patched to it's latest version.

To those with already owned expansions of this game I can understand their point and personally if I was in that situation I'd too wait for a discount but for new comers this is totally worth it.

Personally I've wanted to buy this game + expansions as retail for a long time but the price just wasn't very worth it. gog's price is great and if it didn't have the 25% discount I'd still have bought it.

TLDR: gog offers the full pack at a better price and packaging than most and for that alone I'm truly grateful :D

I'm waiting for an official confirmation that MoW has its authentication check removed and that it can be definitely played offline (and I mean completely offline, not even "one single online check at first startup").

I already own NWN2 on Steam and MoW via Atari Store Europe (which doesn't exist now, luckily I backed up the game several years ago, but don't know for how long will auth servers be active), and if I hate something, it's games with "expiration date". So I find it very attractive to have all of this in fully offline version, no matter the price.

The pricing is fair IMO.

The total amount of gaming-hours with the OC + MotB + SoZ is too damn epic! :)

Not to mention the tons of quality custom modules.

But it isn't 14 bucks, it's 20. The $14,99 special offer is a nice price point for the collection, I'd agree - still, the point I'm arguing is not just the full price. As others have stated, and as I believe is often the case at GOG, many of us are buying games we already own because they are provided DRM-free. Some even have duplicates before buying a third time at GOG.

I'm not buying the custom modules made by fans, and they are not included in the bundle for easy access. And as I've said before, if we're setting the price on games for the amount of hours of gameplay, we'd end up paying obscene prices for some games, good or not. NWND would then cost more than NWN2.

It would be a done deal for me if the extras had the same quality as NWND or Baldur's Gate. GOG serves us well, but when a new release like this doesn't come with the incentive for duplicate or triplicate buyers, I feel let down.

edit: And yeah, I wouldn't even pay $10 for Enhanced Edition of BG. GOG version + community enhancements are stellar in comparison.

sorry about the though love but I think you are a little whining brat. Me thinks I've got a killer deal:

1. I don't have to bother with DRM or downloading patches forever, saves me loads of time and stress. The GOG version of the game is simple to download and install. A big plus.
2. I get all the fantastic OST soundtracks. I am a music composer so that to me is a MAJOR bonus. The soundtracks alone are very hard to find and they'd certainly cost more than 15 bucks, so I kill 4 birds with one stone.
3. I am glad I didn't have to buy the NWN complete at gamersgate. First, I tried and their dumb registration system could not 'verify' my email address, so I gave up. Glad that I did, as I came here on GOG and found this smashing offer.

I wasn't aware that GOG had NWN2, otherwise I would not have bothered with gamersgate, as I already had an account with GOG.
I wasn't interested in NWN 1 as I bought the diamond version from GOG anyways, a few months ago. So I avoided spending money on something I already had, plus I didn't see any soundtracks in the Gamersgate offer.
4. I think the game kicks major butt.

The only thing I feel whining about is the overcomplicated and ineffective damn camera. I'll get over it.
As for the GOG offer, I can't fault it one bit. Just the Mask of the Betrayer pack from Amazon is about the same price, and no bonuses.

I'm not questioning your opinion, whether you think it's a killer deal, or not, is irrelevant to me.

The information specifically states 3 soundtracks, not all, or full, or complete, or anything remotely similar to NWND, To a composer, the tracks have no more value than to any fan of the music since you're not buying any rights other than private listening. Even so, if it has some special value to you, is not an argument for me to buy the game again, is it?

4. NWN kicks major butt, fully patched, comes with all tracks and costs $10. I don't think GOG can patch NWN2 themselves and I don't know if the auth-stuff mentioned elsewhere on the forum has been fixed. In any case, I'm glad you like the game - but that's not the subject of this discussion.

About the camera, steps can be taken to lessen the impact, there's a recent thread where people are kindly providing info about it.

I'm certain that GOG will clear that up. If that is the only issue it should not prevent you from buying the game.

Some (many, I bet) are not as fortunate as you to have had the foresight to backup or otherwise preserve their game. I agree that games with expiration dates are a horrible idea. But we're stuck with many such games - multiplayer won't work because the game assumes there are servers to connect to, the game won't start because an auth server was taken offline when the provider went belly up. The best case scenario was if the dev patched the game before taking servers offline. For that, GOG is a blessing.

Seems like a great deal to me. I can't justify buying it yet because I have 2 games in the queue I haven't even started yet, but I'll be happy to drop $20 on it when the time comes.

I bought the Gamer's Gate version after my NWN2 disc died on me (never had that happen before, and it just had to be this game). For some reason the D2D copies of the expansion packs and the adventure pack I bought from Atari were incompatible with the GG version, and had to buy those again. Then it worked.

So, why did I buy the games again despite already owning them? Well, firstly, I don't care too much since the game is worth more than I've payed already, so I don't feel like I'm being cheated. Secondly, patching the game was a bitch! Now it comes prepatched (or so it seems). The Gamer's Gate version that I has 4 installers (totaling about 13 GB in size), and a complicated installation process that seems more art than science.

I complained about the price tag on Armored Princess, because you can actually get it for dirt cheap else where if you look and wait, and because there is no real advantage of getting it here at GOG. In the case of NWN2 there is an advantage, and I don't care if its more expensive elsewhere.

If you don't like the price wait until they have one of their D&D sales and get it for $5 (which is a steal).

If it's really that easy to milk you for cash you should consider spending it on relief efforts or third world development instead of repeat buys of a game.
Your argument is that you have the money to spend what, upwards of $150+ on this game alone? Depending on the price you paid for each copy of the original and expansions, you're saying they need only alter the releases so they are incompatible and you'll just buy it all again. With no other incentive than a new install script. Good for you. Very few games are that good in my personal opinion, and I don't have that kind of money.
In any case, that's not what I'm discussing here, it's the relative price to GOG extras ratio for those of us who are repeaters. It's not up to GOG standards, especially for new releases, and when the price jumps up to $20 I'm questioning the reasons behind it. On the topic of sales, please read the thread. Those of us who want to buy the game alone, have already done so or postponed/wishlisted it. As is, the offer is not up to GOG quality in my opinion, however.

I really don't understand you. What more do you want? There aren't always a huge amount of extras available to include with a release. Some games here have no extras at all, not even a manual.

Maybe GOG could have added the map and the artbook, that was included with the Collector's Edition, but that is all I can think of.

Overall, I think that 20$ is more than a fair price, considering the amount of game content there is.

I already own two copies of the entire game and I just bought it here for $15 bucks. I might not have bought a third copy for $20 bucks, but it's definitely more than worth it if you don't own it yet. I've easily put 400+ hours into the game (OC + expansions + modules + toolkit), and I don't regret a minute of it.

Isaris, my intent was only to me-too the idea that this is a great deal. Not so much for you, but for others who might be reading and wanting to weigh different responses.

For what it's worth I've looked into NWN2 before. What I found online was $30, not $15. Not sure but I don't think that version had all 3 expansions, and it was probably larded up with crap DRM as well. Eventually I would have bought whatever half assed version I could find at the time. Now I don't need to.

Sure, I'd like it for $10, or $5, or $0.49, but even at $20 I'm getting a way better deal than I could have gotten a week ago. That's good enough for me.
