Every time I try to save the game stops working and all progress is lost. I'm using W10 home. Is there any fix for this?

Sounds like your save directory is blocked either by not running Admin mode, or by some aggressive anti-virus software.

Definitely look into whether it's your antivirus. I've found Bitdefender's file protection feature is especially overzealous about this.
