Me and a friend of mine just bought nwn2 complete on gog.

We are trying to play the original campaign. We manage to make it work and start an online game using hamachii. One of us host and the other join via direct connect. But we encountered the following issue:

Everytime the character of the person who joined (meaning he's not hosting the game) levels up, once he clicks on the button to level up the game for him slows down, start to glitch and then after two or three minutes it crashes. The host is not affected and he manages to go on without crashing. We tried switching host, but the problem is identical, the carachter who joins can't level up.

We also tried exporting the carachter before leveling up, disconnect and restart the game, but the carachter of the person who joins via direct connect always loses all xp, and as far as I can tell all equipment too, starting again from level 1. When he manages to gain enough xp to level up, the same problem occurs again.

Anyone can suggest a fix?

I am playing on windows 7 and my friend on windows 10. I dont think it depends on the operative system since we have the same specular problem.

We downloaded the client extension but nothing changed.

We were so willing to play (perfect quarantine game imho), you cant imagine how excited we were when we managed to start the game, and how frustrated we are right now.

I really findi it hard to believe NW2 players that say the game works fine and they have been able to play through it. I installed and reinstalled this game and I have NEVER been able to complete it. Something always goes wrong with it. You can read the litany of problems on this board. Which is really too bad because It sure looks like a great game. If I could just get to work. I periodically come back and try again - hoping it's been fixed. So far - NOT. This has been my experience.
I am having a similar problem with my little brother, except basically every time he clicks the button to level up, there's roughly a 50% chance he'll lose connection. All of his items and info remain the same however because the problem happens on his end, not mine (I am the host). We have experimented and here are some solid facts:

1. When he moves on his client, I can see it on my end, but not him. This means something, somehow, fails on his end, but only on his end. So;
2. Saving the game whilst this happens will save the progress of both characters and he can rejoin and select the character stored within the savegame I have to prevent him from losing progress (when joining server, use the info stored in the host's server instead of the local one).

So far we've found no fix other than just rejoining the server.
