Vellikeppi: Heres the errors and specs.
Do you have the latest Video drivers for your card? I found other instances which seem related to AMD GPU drivers:

I have the same problem, same message and everything, Win 7 included. I managed to start it by going to my install-folder and start nwmain.exe directly instead of using the GoG-launcher or the Launch NWN.exe provided by GoG.
I had to make a copy of nwmain.exe (with a different name) and create a shortcut to that. Then, in Options -> Video Options -> Advanced Video Options, uncheck the box by Environment Map On Creatures.

Hi, hoping someone can help. I am running Windows 10 on a Surface. I just installed Neverwinter Nights. It starts, plays the opening video, then freezes on the screen where it is showing options to start a new game or load a game. I can move the pointer around but clicking on anything produces no results.

I had to reboot the computer to get out of it because it wouldn't even let me get to Task Manager. I could ctrl-alt-del and select Task Manager but it just went back to the frozen Neverwinter Nights screen.

It said on the screen before I bought it that it would run on Windows 10.

Other Surface owners may be able to help better, having probably faced the problem of running ancient software like NWN. You can try some of most common generic fixes (installing outside the x86 directory, renaming nwnmain.exe, , run with admin permissions, changing compatibility mode, etc).

It's best to furnish the unit's full specs, though, to allow readers best chance to recommend a fix.

*What vcard and driver version? Integrated video or sound can be tough to deal with. Any integrated components?
*Multicore? From the little bit I've read about this product, they all use multicore CPU but haven't really examined in detail. You may need to modify the default CPU Affinity in the nwnplayer.ini to compensate.
*Version of DirectX you are trying to run NWN with?
*Applied the Critical Rebuild for English v1.69 (assuming you are running the English version)?
*What resolution are you trying to run the game? Have you tried lowering it?

These sorts of factors should help forming a clearer picture of your configuration for others to evaluate.
Thanks for the suggestions. I found a solution in another thread that works. If I just click past all the stuff at the beginning instead of watching it then I don't have the problem. I don't know why that worked, but am looking forward to playing the game now :-)

Note that stuff you clicking past, are the intro movies.

I mentioned this has caused me to crash, and the method to disable them in this post:
