Unlimited Adventures..

what about Dungeon Hack?
that was so much fun back in the day..

billions of different dungeons, not downloaded but generated right there.

fight to the bottom, or as long as you could fight anyways, the goal was to die and as deeply as you could.

now THAT was fun.

none of these can compare to that really.

I wish we had a new Dungeon Hack, the old one looks like Minecraft :|
still fun, archives Volume 3

dtgreene: I am just wondering: How would you compare Neverwinter Nights (and perhaps its sequel) to Unlimited Adventures? I note that both games seem to be based off player-designed adventures and both include editing tools to make them.
Video Review

NWN was developed up to the day bioware joined EA
so Neverwinter nights could be consider one of the last old school rpgs before everything got sold out to EA and UBI

Neverwinter nights 1 never lost a following.
Actually even to this day nwn1 is more popular than nwn2 that was developed by Obsidian.

One of the bigger appeals to neverwinter nights 1 was the easy to use yet powerful development tools.
Allowing dungeon masters the actual tools to recreate real pen and paper modules.

It uses a C style scripting language.
Allows hosting persistant cheat free servers with real database back ends.

There has been large development into hacking the server and client exposing almost everything there is to be exposed to be modified through out the years.

So almost anything you can dream up is possible.

So if you are looking to be a dungeon master creating a story to tell yourself or you wish to explore through a DnD wrold that story can vary endlessly depending on module... all supporting LAN or Internet coop/pvp

In more traditional isometric view this would be your game.

This is like the Ultima Online of nostiaga.
To those that played it back in the glory days.

I have followed this game since before its alpha.

I found this Endless Dungeons Module for NWN, it is essentially Dungeon Hack within NWN?

if you mean self generating levels like most rougelikes yes.

It is very possible to do within neverwinter nights.

Remember the game isn't limited to just what you script and pre design.

There is many dungeon master tools as this game was attempt to allow the real DnD experience in online game there is what is known as DM Client which gives more tools for live dungeon master to affect the world.

Future scripts and tools are out there to increase the tools / abilities allowed.

Really there is no limitation you will likely run into any what ever you dream up.

If you do some how hit limitation in your dreams...
NWNX Forums

That is webpage for neverwinter extender which allows extended commands/functionality on server to unlock anything hardcoded.

There is also what is known as NWNCX which does the same for the client.

They do still get some updates according to github nwnx was just updated sep 1

well, I loved Dungeon Hack so I know that this should scratch my itch then.
the EOB interface was never really comfy fully, this might actually be better.

but I did enjoy the goal of DH, get buried, the deeper the better, online leaderboards and all..

if it was a better discount for the archives I would get it, but lets be honest, I had every one of those when they came out..

would you pay more than 10$ for the collection?
they were good but still.. not that good, not another 30$ worth.

plus the FR series and the code wheels and stuff.. UGHH..

I'm gonna have to try this, haven't seen NWN in years and even then played a friends copy maybe 45 minutes worth..
Wish me luck, Time to delve a little and get a feel for it so i can try this endless dungeon module, see how it is and how it compares.

Are you talking about Infinite Dungeons? If so, I'd recommend getting a balance mod, loot is grossly overpowered without it and the game becomes very easy soon enough.

thanks, i'm definately going to have to look into this.

once you go into it you can come back out right?
and does it re-randomize the next trip in?
or does it start building and randomize as it goes but remain static afterwards?

doesn't really matter, either way would kill quite a few hours i am sure.

I should probably try the main campaign first to get the hang of it anyways.

I looked through neverwintervault.org and started the account creation process, still waiting on the next email but thats all good, I got lots to explore while i wait.

I do remember UA, but it just wasn't for me.

I remember you could get alot of the old classic modules that users had recreated.

I already see that heroes quest has been ported into this game through mods there, and keep on the borderlands right off the top of the bat.

I'm probably gonna get stuck here for a bit, time for more coffee and fire up some sour diesel and venture in.
Life is good in California.

if the OP is looking for a UA clone he might have actually found something better it looks like.

Guess you have to create dats for the first 3 modules too, tried to load Shadow Guard and it won't load, 10 second fix for that, simple enough, I had figured since it was included it wouldn't need to be done the same, but of course 10 seconds is long enough to generate all 6 dats anyways, no biggie.
