Hi,
I am uncertain concerning the way enemy attacks are calculated. This problem arose for me when I decided to create a character with an extremely high AC. It was a Shapeshifter/Monk shifted into a dragon.

This was some time ago but I believe the AC was higher than 70. It was at least so high that, based on the rules, enemies should only have been able to hit me with natural 20's.
However, enemies kept hitting me despite the 'to hit calculation showing their attack being lower than my AC. This was especially evident against the Azer in Hordes of the Underdark.

Does anyone know if there is a bug in the game system which has trouble calculating high AC or if there is something else that I missed?

Thank you.

Were you flat-footed (stunned, knocked down, not currently doing anything)? This will cause you to lose your Dex and Dodge AC.

Did you have an AC debuff?

Providing a screenshot or short video would help, but I doubt it's a bug in the game.

No, I was in an open area in dragon form, fighting several Azer who used throwing axes. But I saw this phenomenon in other fights as well.
I will try to recreate the character and then go to that area again when I have the chance.

No major bugs. They have mostly been rooted out long ago.

If you want to see what is happening in more detail:

~ (bring up console)
DebugMode 1 (enable Debug Mode, so you can issue commands)
dm_enablecombatdebugging 1 (enable detailed combat logs)

This will show you all the attacker bonuses/penalties vs all the defender bonuses/penalties for each attack.

It should give you a better idea of the penalties you might be suffering during a specific encounter. Lots of things don't show up on the character sheet, but AFAIK, the combat log is accurate.

Thank you. I am installing the game now. I wil recreate the character and do as you suggested.
Another possibility may be how the enemies are designed for the module. An example of this is those Gang Leaders in the OC have their HP buffed up much higher than a normal character would at that level. I'm assuming this was done to make the game more challenging as the computer's AI is not up to par with a human. One way to check this is to open up the campaign/module in the toolset, and take a look at the NPCs.

I also seem to remember in NWN2, those bandits in the Bandit Camp near the beginning of the game had magical armor and weapons that they could use, but the items were not droppable for you. It irritated me at the time I found out, so I clicked the checkbox to make them droppable.
