rangarkash: Oh boy, you're in for a dosey if you think that's bad.
Just play with your girlfriend and don't mind things which don't concern you. You'd have to do that in every other server anyway, but you'd be playing alone. But if you MUST play on another server...
Don't touch EfU if you think that's hyper-aggressive. You'd be eaten alive by the ravenous pack of circlejerking PvP-obsessed bastards that is the community, both DMs and players. The crafting system is a mess of trial and error, and only works for 3 professions. You'll be extremely limited in what you can actually do, as the DMs only care about one or two things at a time, usually the Cthulhu wannabes which are incidentally the current lead's incestuous love child. The "vets" may also refuse to interact with your character altogether, unless they want to rob it or kill it.
Arabel is a small server, but the community and DMs are generally nice. I've seen dedicated crafters function with great success there as well. That said, the energy of all involved can be a bit lacking at times, as it's an old server with a dwindling population following a crackdown on cheaters.
Ravenloft is larger than both of those, but suffers from being a profoundly static environment. The RP is generally good, and the system encourages you to advance in levels through RP. It also places a limit to how much you can advance at any given time, which is both good as it discourages powergaming and discardable PCs, and bad as it gives old characters a significant advantage.
I can assume your speaking from experience with this long post, despite what NezzedOne says,
(sorry dude, though, it does sound a little promising, so i may look ya'll up to deiced for my self later) sadly, from the sounds I don't think there is much I can do in regards of playing my Merchant Drow lady, ether it's play a "normal" character or be relentlessly harassed and bullied, because yay exclusion and racism!! <8/
I like playing drow, I think their stories can be interesting specially for underdogs that realize the underdark is not a good nor healthy place to be, and go looking for more, specially with the surface above, instead of sitting around and crying like angsty teenagers, and just accepting they have to eat dirt and suck it up...
But it seems a lot of people don't agree with this... all because of this Drizzt butthole... -sighs- I've purposefully avoided most, if not all, info on this guy BECAUSE of the negative stigma around him, kind of out of spite, just to throw it back into awful DM's faces... As petty as it sounds, but lets be real, anyone that assumes something about a person or character is bound to not be a very good person, player, or DM. :/
All I really know about him is is Name, Race, Alignment, Sex, and Class, and he's the reason we have nice things / can't have good rps / can't have good stories about other hero drow, and why "No Fun allowed" signs where invited. <B/
NineCoronas: Let's be honest here, you wanted to play a Drizzt or Deekin clone to frolick with all the nice surfacers, and the DM's cracked down on you for trying to do it.
And here is a perfect example, because You sir sound like one hell of a bad DM and player if you think a female Drow sorcerer, who is a potion brewer and alchemist, is a Drizzt knock off, so, lol, jokes on you.
Further more I don't really know much if anything about Deekin, (yet) other then he's a Kobold, and that it's not rare for Kobolds to be good, or neutral aligned, and generally just fallow whoever their boss is, which, sadly, are commonly baddies looking for easy servants.
