Hi! My game worked prior to the recent update, but not anymore.

Starting the game via the Galaxy launcher button doesn't work. There is no response when doing that. Executing the nwmain.exe gives me an "the application was unable to start (0xc000007b)" error.

Replacing the openAL file with the file from the SysWOW64 folder doesn't help. Installing the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019 doesn't help. Deleting the Neverwinter Nights folder in Documents doesn't help.

I'm using windows 7 x64 bit.

Edit. Run as admin doesn't help either.

Having the exact same issue. Hope we get a solution soon.

I had a clean install of the game (first time I installed it was today, with the non-working patch version). Installing (or was it reinstalling?) OpenAL worked for me. I got the installer from the link on the Beamsoft help page.

I already tried reinstalling my game. Sadly that didn't worked.

Re-installing OpenAL just fixed this for me right now. :)

I've installed the game for the first time today, also wouldn't launch.

Installed OpenAL from Beamdog page into nwmain.exe folder - still didn't work.

Installed OpenAL installer from OpenAL.org - NOW IT WORKS :D

I ended up reverting to an older patch level just to get the game to work at all. Manually executing the newer patch level binary, outside the launcher gives an immediate fatal error popup. Since I don't play with others, the newer features are not a critical item.
