Simple question with a simple answer I would think. I am wanting to create a NWN Module, however, I wanted to be sure that people would actually be interested in playing it. Looking at the NWN Vault on IGN I can see that modules are still being produced by people however I wanted to see if folks here would be interested in a story focused adventure module?

So the basic question is this: Do you still download and play custom NWN Modules? Or do you focus on the main game?
sure, lots of people do. I tend to play multiplayer modules on a LAN at home but if a new module is single player only and looks like fun I'll play it. I'd say the bar is set pretty high on "new" work if you study some of what's come out in the last few years. There are some links on this forum to some of the top community created modules.
There is a lot of new custom content available as well that makes the modules look better.
The best single player only module I've played is Agrenost, Beneath the Cobbles and the best multiplayer is Eye of the Beholder by Dark.
The Accursed Tower by Udasu is also fantastic. It's really designed as SP but mostly works as MP. Very good story, too
Yep, I'll still occasionally grab and play a new single-player module if it looks very good (and such modules are pretty much the only reason I fire up NWN these days). However, as has been mentioned the bar is pretty damn high for new modules, due to the quality of what's already out there. If this is the first module you're making then chances are not too many people will be interested in it, and those that do play it will probably have a fair amount of feedback for you (read: constructive criticism). If you're looking to make a module that lots of people will play then you'll probably have to go through several attempts before your skills get to the point where you're making modules that are able to stand out among the many modules already created.
I still play them, and I will for the forseeable future.

Heck, you make a module and I'll play it at least. :)

I'm a bit late on the reply but I still play them and plan to continue.

Occasionally, rarely. Singleplayer only.

I get the cravings maybe once a year or so and then try out one more module, or replay something.

But it's getting rarer and rarer. I still have one real good unfinished module, but can't find the will to play.

What DarrkPhoenix said. The bar is real high nowadays, most players only play Hall of Fame modules and there's more of those than almost anyone can play. And you don't get to Hall of Fame before a bunch of people have really liked your module.

Catchy module name and description with absolutely no spelling errors on either one can still go a long way though.

Damn I love this game, but sadly I think my time with it is drawing to a close. I just don't have the drive to play it like I used to and I have so many other games to play that I can't really justify putting more time into NWN when I have close to two hundred unplayed games in my collection.
