I started a NWN server for my friends and I. I've left it running on a spare PC. It's a persistent game that only we can access. Anyway...

1. The game is set to save every 15 minutes. However, the menu screen has a "Save Character" option. That option saves the character to the server. Does the server save every 15 minutes preserve characters, or do we need to remember to save them manually?

2. I'm leaving the module running, even when nobody is logged in. If I do a quest, is that quest eliminated from the game so that nobody else can do it?

1. Save character saves their character on their machine as a new character. If your character name is Fred Flintstone, then each time you "Save Character" you get a Fred Flintstone(1), Fred Flintsonte(2), ... etc. Your character is saved automatically on log-out to the server vault if server-side characters are used.

2. It totally depends on what you're running. If you're running a module built for a persistent world, then you're fine. If you're running the original campaign or something like it, then once a quest is done, it'll likely be done forever. Moreover, once a quest is taken, it might not be able to be taken again. You can get into all kinds of trouble when running a server like that.

UH OH. Well, I am going to document this entire process. Should be fun regardless.
