Dudes, GoG rocks! The idea is so brilliant, I'm gonna stick so much to you since I think that the best games have already been written (maybe because I'm an "old" gamer, class of 70).
I just ran into the wishlist... love it, great idea. There's some possibility for improvement, however:
1) There're some *syntactically* senseless game titles, i.e. titles that just don't exist (blank titles, of just random chars as title)
2) There're game titles that are old but are still sold in particular editions (I look at LucasArts adevnture titles for instance. Don't know if you can get them. If not, it doesn't make any sense to list them here
3) Titles that can't be considered "old" (for instance, Call of Duty Modern Warfare series)
I hope you can get the wishlist managed, in order to really represent what *old*, hard to get games people want.

Welcome to GOG! I'm glad you're so enthusiastic about it; GOG *is* indeed a fantastic service.
As for the wishlist: true, it's quite a bit of mess (even Photoshop is there!), but that's what happens when you allow every registered user to add titles... Also, I doubt the staff has the manpower to sift it through.

Thinking about the wishlist, I have another idea for a feature that might be useful:
While you're browsing the Games Catalogue, there's a little icon that tells you if you "own it"; would it be possible to have a similar icon for games already in your wishlist? I was going through a whole load of games yesterday, but couldn't remember which ones I'd already added, so had to go into the individual game pages to see whether they were already on my wishlist!
Hope that makes sense ...

Ultimately it all works out because only the more sensible, correctly spelled suggestions will get any significant number of votes. Yes, there's a lot of crap in there, but it shouldn't be a problem. I would like to see improved means of browsing the wish list though.

However, it can happen that there are multiple entries for the same game in the wishlist, one correct and one or numerous ones with a typo, and people (who accidentally mis-type the title) vote for an incorrectly spelled game title, reducing the votes the real one has.

It could have that effect. But if people use the search wisely they should be able to find the correct entries also. If in doubt then they can vote for both. But then that's assuming people can query a database better than they can spell.

Wishlist hopefully will get cleaned up in next month's site update.

Haven't we already had this discussion numerous times now? Oh yeah, we have, starting with the day the wishlist was added over a year ago. Its a major part of the GOG.com Features Wishlist thread as well.

Personally, I think the entry for "Barack Obama" is the one every one should vote for. I think that would be a most interesting game to play.

It's a wishlist for a reason asshole.
People can wish for whatever they want, doesn't mean it'll be anywhere near within the realm of what's possible.

Weclock, please respect different points of view. Your can wish and pray everything you want, but this wishlist has a purpose, to get an idea of the costumer demand for new store releases. For other wishes, you should do it elsewhere
I too feel that the wishlist could be improved a lot, I suggest this feature:
- Able to merge wishes, sometimes the same game is added with different name, make the alias, on voters demand.
An extra button "merge with" and click the other, prompt for the correct name, but keep the other name as alias, so that either term could be found in the same entry.
If more than X votes are casted that way, the entry would merge as alias and different votes will sum up. Or moderators approve the merge.
