With 10-20 centimeters of snow and the temperature being cca. -10 degrees Celsius, winter has officially arrived to my city! :-)
I like snow (well, as long as it's not too hazardous, anyway). Also, the arrival of snow always puts me into a mood to play games with a snowy/cold environment. I was wondering, fellow GoG(g)ers, if you are in a similar situation. Do you also feel an inclination to playing such games or snowy parts of games?
Here's what I do (or plan to do) in the following days.
-In Titan Quest (Immortal Throne), raze through the Silk Road multiple times. Not only does it mean XP and drops, that area also has a great winter theme (save for a certain valley).
-In Sacred 2, go to the northernmost island (once known as Christmas Isle). Pity it's so small&it's the game's only snowy area, though.
-Play "Xmas Season in Sanctuary" mod for Diablo II LoD. It's a rather simple modification, but it sure is fun and is centered all around winter and christmas.
-Play Patrician 3 (instead of the hotter-themed Port Royale games).
-Play some winter-themed random maps for Age of Empires 3 and Age of Chivalry Hegemony (a mod for AoE 2: The Conquerors).
-Play some winter-themed maps in WH40K: Dawn of War - Dark Crusade.
Anyone else have such plans? ;-)

Snow has arrived two days ago at home.
I've started a new dwarf in WoW just to play in the very snowy Dun Morogh ^^
I plan to (re)play Farenheit (aka Indigo Prophecy) with New York under the snow.

It's summer here too...but nice to see you're making plans about it, I was amazed by the snowy maps in AoE2 when it came out. hehe
Indigo Prophecy still on my backlog too. There's the cold levels in Max Payne, if you need some action.
When you get tired of it (as we get tired of too much sun, just the opposite), just forget the snowy theme for a while and fire up Tropico here from gog, 40 degrees C. directly from the banana republic. ;)

We got -26 C (-15 Fahrenheit) a few days ago (Minnesota). And I'm playing snow blower. :P

Aah. Winter. My second favourite season. We have had some -20 degrees Celsius for a week now. At the moment it's about -15.
This thread makes me want to plug in GC or Wii to play Metroid Prime’s Phendrana Drifts -level. that propably ends me playing the whole game though once again.
Usually I like to play winter themed games in summer and summer themed in winter, just to compensate.

Coincidentally, we're getting record snowfall in the Washington D.C. area. There's about 18 in. (about half a meter I think) on the ground right now and they say it might snow another 6 which has only happened twice in the last 100+ years around here.

Yeah its ass cold in germany,too. Why not play m&m 4/5, isnt there a region with snow? And its currently on sale, if you dont have it.

It's been snowing in Denmark too these past few days. As usual, this has come as a complete surprise to the railroads, who each year treat snow as a novel concept. Half the trains are cancelled, and the rest are delayed. Apparently, the railroad switches used in Danish railroads can't handle snow too well, and so they break down whenever it snows. As far as I know, this is not the case in Sweden and Norway, our two Scandinavian neighbors, so I wonder why the Danish railroads haven't asked them years ago what kind of switches they use, and where to buy them.

Had snow this week in Newcastle, only gets down to about -5 degrees centigrade though (at night).
Cold enough for me though, and now the snow is turning into ice... can be a bit dangerous where it's not been gritted.

Missouri is real cold and rainy, no snow but sheeze cold rain is worse and colder than snow!
I am currently stuck on UFO: Aftershock and for kicks I read how Universal Combat was a disappointment to someone in another post. So, I am reinstalling the latest Universal Combat Collectors Edition and will take weeks to get the controls down like always, but that game is fun when you finally get in the swing of it!
More plans. Well, I live on a farm and winter time is when you cut wood, sadly this means I only have nights to game. I just done the first part of my plan 2 weeks ago and installed a new motherboard and quad-core and got a new OEM disc of Windows 7 Pro, so my PC is up to snuff for the rest of winter. Other than what I mention above I might rotate around some games.
- Tropico 2 is still a blast but only in 1 hour stretches
- Supreme Commander Forged Alliance finally runs fast! Now it is truly fun
- I had an odd itch for Dungeon Keeper 2 and got it installed with the latest patches last night
- Alpha Centauri and it's expansion, I got 2 games going on in it now as the Peacekeepers and University and yes is runs on 64-bit Win7 woot
- Currently installing my original Fallout 1+2 CD's, take a guess on how much time that takes out of my life in the next few weeks
- X3:Terran Conflict just because it's a smoother space experience than Universal Combat

snow... god I HATE you people! It's going to be 45c next week

Sure, enjoy your snow. I'll sit here and suffer in the heat when we have a power outage due to everyone *else* (The not important people) having their Air-con on too long and high.
I would consider some desert theme levels/games - but that will probably just make me feel hotter :)
