As AndrewC said, it's Polish, the people behind it are CD Projekt.
The English-only version of this site can be a little bit confusing. Thanks for answers.
Just to be even more acccurate, this bloke made it: http://news.bigdownload.com/2010/01/28/interview-cd-projekts-co-founder-talks-gog-com-the-witcher-2/
GOGers like us made the GOG. :P

don't believe everything you read on wikipedia.
I made it.
Smart idea to sell DRM free games and thus far it must be profitable!
Does this mean we can expect to see the Witcher on here at some point?! :O
¬_¬
Gog can't be American : It's sturdy, cheap, and works well.
The same arguments can be made for why it's not British, too :(
Long Live the Gog!
hip-hip!

No need to wait . . . the 1.5 patch removes the DRM, the director's cut patch removes the censorship, the Insane Difficulty mod make it hard so . . .
Follow this link and than the FAQ link to download the patches. At 9GB it's easier to buy the game than download it. Was $19.99 at Bestbuy last time I checked.
