I suppose enough decades have passed for gaming history to be of sufficient content. I especially enjoy all the retrospectives on gametrailers.com .
Otherwise I am partial to Ancient History and all the treasures within. I also try to study in some depth the history of mathematics which is a 'bit' harder.

That history is a double edged sword. You think you know something. You even learned it at school.
Common knowledge. Only to find out later that its wrong. That everyone tries to manipulate history.
And its very hard to see through such flimsy *truth*.
I like to study the history of booze hands-on.
The WW2 Battle of Stalingrad is intriguing to me. Then again, there is the Battle of Gettysburg fighting around Little Round Top which is also fascinating.

History is an interesting subject. =)

Well then perhaps you can answer me a question that has been troubling me for some time: What is mead like?

Like beer, but sweeter(Unless you add spices and stuff)
My favourite part is the history of science and ideas.
My favorite part about history is that I don't need to learn it, or learn anything from it. I mean it's not like it's ever going to repeat itself.

Hehe a dangerous sentiment...
History is written by the victorious. That said, there is history that goes back far enough that who was victorious is of little consequence. My favorite period of study is the Roman empire. The moe I learn of it (even after 30 odd years), the more I see parallels with modern history. As they say, those who do not learn from history....blahblahblah, when does Dancing with the Stars start and where's my Big Mac?
My favorite thing about history?

That it actually happened.

Classics, especially the Greeks, it's insane how the Spartan society arranged themselves and they way they were fiercely competitive city-states but at the same time all 'Greek'
I also like to see it dug up on Time Team (or did - its been canceled, apparently :-( )
