Personally I am still not sure what I would think if a "new" ending DLC was(will be?) released.
Either, the current ending are supposed to be taken at the first level, no special reading, in which case it's just lazy script writing, but well it's not like it would be a first in video games history or even for Bioware.
In which case I am not sure I would really like having them change it, if it's really the endings they "planed" then they should assume them and keep them, no matter how bad/silly they are and not change them just because fans asked them too.
But if it's option two and the "I-something" theory (I am trying to avoid spoilers here) that floats on the Net is correct then that would be actually pretty clever on Bioware side (Bioware doing something really clever in one of their scripts... the world is really going to end in 9 months).
In which case it would mean that this "new" ending would have always been the "real" ending and that not releasing it with the game original release but later as an hopefully free DLC would have just been a ploy to get peoples talk about the game.
But in this case I would still be very pissed because it would mean that "real" ending of the game is only available if you actually play online as you can't have enough EMS points by only playing offline even if you do all the side quests.

Aribeth... Not sure what you mean. You mean the Aribeth you encounter in Hordes of the Underdark? That's not a parallel dimension - that's one of the possible afterlives of the setting.
why the fuck there is no mention of this at all, anywhere .... because they re-named her "Asheera" and she just gives you her anti-lizard pendant, not joins you. why the fuck they needed to drum this whole thing up when it just kinda diminishes the character and distracts from the plot environment, not to mention provides all the function of a pedestal with a really good item on it ....

My mad rhymes could drop Duke Nukem 'cause I'm shooting from the hip, boy
They say there's no school like the old school though you' won't hear 'em talk
'Cause in the oldschool classic games speech was text in a box
I'm in tight with homes at Frobozz and I've friends at PTMC
Gorion was my father (not!) and Planescape's like home to me
You can rock your Commodore or be hipster with a Spectrum
But the Good Old Games for PC? They're the best, you must respect 'em.

This video does a pretty good job at explaining why the ending was bad, and why a simple DLC that adds to the ending won't fix it. The only way to fix it is to completely rewrite it.

I haven't seen the vid above and I haven't yet viewed the discussion why the ending is supposed to be bad (I wanted to avoid spoilers). But I really don't get the uproar. At least the way I played through the story and especially the narrative worked great for me.
Edit: Allright, I get it. I watched the video you posted.
I was just so awed by the whole game that all the things he (mostly) rightfully ciritizises didn't bother me.
