My downloads of GOG games always maxes out at a bit over 1.6MB a second, but I know that's just as fast as my broadband connection is capable of. So I'm wondering from those GOG users who don't live in a country with crappy internet, is there a "maximum" download speed for GOG servers?

I can cap the 100MB line I'm using at work for regular installers, with enough threads. For single threads, it seems ~3MB/s, so I'd say 30MB/s should be achievable.

Come on, 1.6 MB/s is pretty good. I get around 1.4 where I currently live, I think.
Does this help? Click Here 9.4 MBps

Sorry it's so small (That's only 1 thread)

Testing with Settlers 4, highest speed displayed for that installer was 22.35 MB/s.
If anyone feels bad about your connection speed, mine is just 60 KBps at max. Hope that cheer you up. :)
I've done 30+ MB/s at work downloading through the browser.

Speeds aren't so much the problem here as bandwidth caps on downloads.

I feel the pain, bro, got that too. Good speeds, but only for a certain volume :(

I ha-...should move to Norway. :D
I cap at 10MB/s or so but the average speed is around 6 to 8MB/s for a long period.
The downloader maxes out my connection at 10-12MB per second. If I download something on the web browser it will be about 75% of that.
I heard that one of their servers made the Kessel Run in under 12 parsecs.

You would`ve had better luck in Sweden. If my memory serves me right; there was a euro test of some sort, where Sweden had way-way more speed than Norway, per subscribers. No one here are willing take the bill on rolling out fiber. They blame it on the mountains. lol

Best speed I get is 586 KB/s. (That`s ADSL trough the old telephone copper wire)
