Elmofongo: How long until its out? and if it does, does activating the game is just a click of a button instead of entering a code?

SimonG: Here you will find all about it

I found this:

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Daggerfall:DaggerXL

and it shows a download so I can use it now?, and if I do get it I don't need DOSBox any more so I can delete it?

Can anyone give me a link of the forgotten stuff in Daggerfall mentioned in the post?

I found them to be archaic, but workable once you got used to them. Basically the same as System Shock's controls. I could see the game being massively improved with a mouselook mod like the one for SS.
UU controls were nothing like System Shock. Systems Shock was clunky at best, and that "click on the body to have a stance" thing gave me cancer. The mouse control was simple in UU, I really don't know what problems people have with it. Hold mouse button to walk. Walk + right click to jump. Hold and click to use item. Hold and swipe to use object in the world. Click to examine, Talk. The only thing you needed the keyboard for was to switch into combat mode, and to play the flute Then it had the same mouse swings as Arena and Daggerfall later re-used.

I wouldn't use DaggerXL since it is not 100% complete yet or complete enough to play a game yet. Unfortunately you will have to stick with DOSBox until a new version is out.

That's true. It didn't have quite the level of clunkiness that SS did. But to me, it felt very similar. Same odd button layout, same inability to mouselook, same mouse movement controls (which I didn't like).

Barefoot_Monkey: One does not simply stop playing Daggerfall?
I just stopped playing, not really pissed off about anything. I go from game to game all the time, I haven't finished Baldur's Gate yet, or the campaigns for all the strategy games I have, and numerous other games. I have issues.

Same here, I still try to finish off some of old games but I still get distracted and buy a new game.
I've tried playing Daggerfall a few times and actually got pretty far, but I just got super annoyed at having to return to that witch multiple times and having to find her each time all over again! Who thought it was a good idea to reset the dungeon auto map each time you exit???

.....I deleted it...Because now I cannot even access the game, I entered the code for it on the DOSBox and nothing and the strange thing is I put that code in before and it worked.

Oh wellm, but like everyone else here its best to wait until DaggerXL releases or if GOG ever releases Elder Scrolls.

I don't see any code... Maybe we're having translation issues? :)

What you want is DaggerfallSetup which sets up everything for you like GOG's installers. Just install and play. :)
