Weclock: seriously though, if I want to watch porn, I'll just go to (color)tube and save myself the ten bucks.

if you'd actually seen porn, you'd know that watchmen does not have porn

I have, I just haven't seen the watchmen. :D
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but it only just came out over here, so i watched it today.
Gotta say, I really enjoyed it! I wasn't really expecting to... its been a long while since i read the book, but i didn't expect it to translate very well - and some of the reviews I've seen have been pretty negative - and i'm usually picky about movies.
I don't know how it'd work for people who haven't read the book, but i thought pretty much everything was spot on. I just felt that the ending lacked a little impact - they should have focused a little more on the loss, before switching to the recovery. Other than that... lots of fun.
[edit] Plus, it was pretty much worth the price of entry just for the awesome "times they are a changing" credits montage.
I did feel that Viedt was a little underdeveloped. Though TBH I felt that in the novel too. At some point he went from being "the smartest man in the world" to also being an amazing fighter able to catch bullets, etc.. that was never really explained in either.
Cutting the Black Freighter sections (which they had no choice about) meant he had even less backstory than in the novel. )
