Aside from Defenders Quest, which I do own and enjoy, what other Tower Defense games are available on GOG?
Do the Crusader games count?
Anomaly Warzone Earth.
(uh, an inversed tower defense I guess)

A genre I wish would go away. Just cluttering things they are!
Defense Quest was very good

Defense Grid The Awakening is pretty much *the* best Tower Defense game (Steam and has been drm free in bundles unless im wrong)

It's not my first pick for games by far, but it's far from going anywhere. In the least there are aspects to many games in multiple genres. I remember the mountainside battle in Final Fantasy 7 where you had to put down traps and such to fight off enemies, in hopes to lessen the in-battle fighting at top. That being one example from 16 years ago, though it wasn't "officially" tower defense.

I heard that's actually a tower offense. Is there really a big difference, aside from the difference between defending or offending?

Sorry, I got this on Steam, but have yet to play it... but my bet would be that this is the major difference.
I know you are asking about GOG, but I would argue that some of the best TD games are online flash games...

Try these:

Protector IV.V - http://www.kongregate.com/games/undefined/protector-iv-v
GemCraft - http://www.kongregate.com/games/gameinabottle/gemcraft
Cursed Treasure - http://www.kongregate.com/games/IriySoft/cursed-treasure-dont-touch-my-gems

I would also like to point out Creeper World as a unique twist on the genre - http://knucklecracker.com/creeperworld/cw.php
Creeper World 3 is now in production.
Missile Command!

The gameplay is vastly different. You get a limited amount of resources, and are supposed to build a convoy capable of traversing the maze-like environment. There are enemy towers all over the place, and you are encouraged to destroy them (gives you more resources that can be used to upgrade the vehicles in your convoy or buy new ones). While you can clearly see that they got the inspiration from tower defense games, in terms of actual gameplay, it and TD games are worlds apart.

I don't know of any other TDs on GOG. And let's be frank here, most TD games are not all that good. There are some shining examples of good TDs and a few alright ones out there though. Defense Grid is by far the best I've ever played, though Defenders Quest (which you said that you had just played) was also quite enjoyable. Sol Survivor could have been nice, had it been harder.

Apart from the fact you're technically playing the attacker the game feels very much like a regular tower defense, a really good one though.

I'd suggest trying Kingdom Rush if you haven't play it yet (I have yet to try it myself), supposedly it's just as good as Plants vs. Zombies, only free.

Argh, removed the wrong post reference :( Actually, when trying to reply to this, the forum went a bit wonky, as it by default created an incomplete quote, so that might have been the problem, or I might just have made a mistake earlier. Not sure

Well, I do like myself, so I don't find that to be all that strange.

Might there be some issue with Barefoot essentials? it was updated just recently, and that might be what caused those faulty quotes.
