Crosmando: Modern laptops are horrible and have been since they stopped making any without that horrible chiclet keyboard, modern trackpads are also very bad.
If that ever becomes a problem, you can always buy a cheap (wireless even) external mouse and keyboard, and use them with the laptop.
That said, some chiclet keyboards are actually quite good, so good that many external keyboards nowadays also come with a chiclet keys (e.g. Logitech K360 and many others) instead of the more traditional deep keys. And I hardly ever even use my laptops with the trackpad anyway, 95% of the time with a mouse, so I am pretty much unaffected by the quality of the trackpad.
I use a traditional (external) keyboard at work and also sometimes at home, and when I use the laptop or Logitech K360 chiclet keys (like now when I am writing this), I don't get a "damn using this chiclet keyboard sucks so much!"-feeling. So apparently I feel the chiclet keyboards are fine, even when compared to traditional keyboards.
And I've noticed that in gaming the keyboard (chiclet or not) matters even less than in writing long messages or documents.
