Navagon: If they do make a SWAT 5 I hope they improve the rules of engagement. An enemy that is running 'away' but just so happens to be running right at you with their weapon raised isn't visually any different than one that's intentionally being a threat. The rules of engagement were dumb as fuck in SWAT 4. As was the effect they had on the AI.
Well, by all means, the game should have better AI. Sure. I've been playing SWAT 4 mostly at LAN parties, and only played the campaign shortly, when i had a Radeon X800 [with PS 2.0], then i made the dumb move, by switching to a 7600GT [with PS 3.0], on which, despite being detected, the game forced older shaders [1.1], making the flashlight an ugly, immersion breaking, pixelated yuckness. But from my LAN experience with the game, i have to say, SWAT 4 was superb.
When it comes to SP, there was a mod called 11-91 i believe, which fixed some of the bugness of SWAT 4, that were not fixed with Stechkov.
Anyhow, in the community lies the legacy, any game that literally sucks in the vanilla form may shine if sprinkled with mods, [-> see Bethesda].
Anyhow, glad to see that some companies stick to their names, deciding not to be another more or less anonymous part of a bigger company. Come to think of it, they could revert back to Looking Glass, or even Blue Sky, as long as their product fits to the names reputation.
So i sit, wait, listen to the melancholic podcast from IG and'll see what hatches.
captfitz: Join the steam group! It was started by some guy called 'the Explosionologist,' whoever that is. Probably some loser with a small dick.
Me? Steam does not interest me.
My dick is fine, thank You for Your concern. ;)

Still can't decide if EA are more like The Many, or like the Borg.. I'm sure their chiefs and major shareholders are the Borg, but the rest i know not.
