I dunno if the GOG Borg collective has seen this before, but I stumbled across it and it's a good read. Basically it's an article about a young teenager in the 90s who created a nuclear reactor and lied to the authorities and took apart smoke detectors to extract radioactive materials and purified and refined them himself. It didn't last long though, he got busted and the house he was doing his experiments in was labeled a Superfund site and they had to bury all his radioactive chemicals in the ground somewhere.
North Korea is nothing compared to this kid, who is now a navy officer on... the USS Enterprise.

I read that before, pretty impressive.
