The Making of Pitfall! (Edge)
Pitfall II (the Sega arcade version) is one of the most important experiences of my videogaming life (that I still have to re-master as I was able years ago on MAME). Never played the original game on Atari 2600, though....
Ah, Pitfall... many an afternoon was wasted with that game and my good old 2600...
I played the original on the Atari as a young kid, and found it amazingly difficult at times. I guess my timing was never that good.
I still think that that Pitfall and Prince of Persia are quite akin to each other, same mechanic, just different pixels.

Uhm, you're badly wrong on this XD To me they only seem distant relatives, where one took the route of cinematic platforming (PoP) and the other remained stuck within the simpler, pure platform scheme.... Considering the huge timeframe between the two games, of course (Pitfall is at least 7-8 years older than PoP).
As KingofGnG (that is another almost pure arcade platform) I can't be wrong on this kind of things :-P

Ah Pitfall, I remember running and jumping around many many days. Not on the Atari tho, but on the C64.
