I don't care for playing online against persons, I prefer playing against AI.
That said, I'm searching for a "Holy Grail" application, a piece of software that will
be compatible with ALL GAMES.
I found something in "Original War" that actually makes strategy games
FUN!! You can pause the game, give orders to your units, and when you
unpause the game, they execute your orders!
No more panic, no more frustration!!
Even better, there is a game speed adjustor!! No more sitting around
watching paint dry, waiting for something to be built....just max out the speed for
a few seconds. If you get attacked while on high speed, rapidly pause the game,
adjust the speed back to "slow motion" and you can ACTUALLY PLAY, instead of frantically mashing buttons in an agony of panic.
The LucasArts game "Secret Weapons over Normandy" had this feature. Until that time,
flight sims were nothing but a misery of confusion and hyperspeed losing, over and over.
This ingenious game had a feature to slow down time! Once you got comfortable with the game, you could play at "normal" speed, but when the computer AI begins to cheat and throw things at you, you cheat right back!
I'm not a crack-addicted hyper monkey. I don't want to spend my gaming time playing
"Centipede" okay? On the other hand, Chess is boring! Games, ALL GAMES, need this feature of being TIME SCALABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please, God: A universal patch that allows every game to have time control!
