Are you getting it for consoles, or are you holding out for the PC version? I've preordered the PS3 version off Amazon along with the Mad Catz FightStick. It's just too awesome!
Neither, good sir, neither....

Aye, I won't be getting it either.
It looks pretty cool, but I won't be getting it mainly because I don't have a current gen console.
I can't wait! I've got it on pre-order for the 360, and I've already got arcade sticks for ti (well, and other fighting games).
I played it in an arcade, and I have to say it is a pretty excellent game, I hope the console port' holds up.
I will get this for my PC. I played older SF games on arcade machines when I was a child and I love SF series a lot.
i've never quite GOT fighting games. Sure they're fun for a day or 2 but after that doesn't it get dull?
Not if you can master the combos. The fun thing about SF4 is that every character is different, even Ryu and Ken. This doesn't just apply to the combos, but also character tactics. Akuma has weak defense but pretty solid attack. Sagat is very unbalanced, and an all rounder, but I've seen him beaten by Zangief before too. Guile's attacks are minimal, but he's an excellent defense character when used well
Thing is, fighting games are more dynamic than what they seem to newcomers. I personally didn't like fighting games after SF2 (didn't get into the trend of buying the later Capcom games), but seeing SF4 in action makes me very nostalgic, and I'm really surprised at the versatility of the game
Plus the fact that SF4 really is SF2 in 3D makes it even more attractive
That being said, *takes a deep breath* YES! Yes I will get SF4 for the PC with an arcade stick. I'm determined to beat my friend at it lol
I'll be getting it on 360, still tossing up whether to pick up an arcade stick of some type as well. Been looking forward to this for a while now :D
Just bought another (much more *grin*) fighting game (Darkstalkers Chronicles for PSP) and I can't help but feel like going back to SF would be a step back... so, no I probably won't get that one.

What makes you think that bro?
Mainly design-wise. I just love bizarre designs (big Alice fan here) and a little red riding hood character with Uzi and mines who as a close range attack slits the other character's throat is exactly what I'm looking for in a fighting game. The locations are equally bizarre: For example you fight on the side of a building while looking down onto the helicopters. Street Fighter just isn't /that/ much over-the-top and I'm having a hard time seeing it as anything but YAFG (yet another fighting game)
I can't wait till I can buy it on gog.com even though it might take some years.

I hear this a lot of from people who don't play fighting games with the right mindset. Don't get me wrong however, there are other genres of games that I'll never get either. But the fun of fighting games is in mastering the timing and intricacies of the fighting system. It's also about competition. You play against other people to measure your mastery.
As for Street Fighter IV though, it's one of the few fighting games that I'm actually excited about in a long time. Mainly because I've been hyped up from playing Super Street Fighter II HD Remix.
After playing so much of Tekken and other 3D fighters, it was refreshing to rediscover the joy of the lightning fast pace that 2D fighters offered.
