I know this is a long shot, but I wonder if anyone remembers this game in its' glory? If so, is a modern OS capable version even possible?
You can still get it from Amazon (really expensive for such an old game) and it shows as Windows 95 game... chances are high, that you will never make it run on modern systems.
I could check to see if it works in Win7. Back in a jiffy

*edit*
Game works quite well actually. I'm getting some graphical issues with the thing that shows your firing arch at the front of the ship, but it is more an aesthetic issue than an actual gameplay issue.

Fortress building is a bit glitchier in its graphics, but still fully playable.

What has happened though is that I can no longer see my mouse pointer in windows, so I guess I'll have to restart my computer.

I would love to see and play this game that one more time. Would definitely buy it if I could get it here.

What install parameters did you end up using?

I don't think I did anything special. Just installed the game and ran it (I might have set the game to Win 98 compatibility mode)

I remember. And I tried it on Windows Xp x64 and played this quite a lot.
The game ran surprisingly well, I could not recall any glitch or irregularity in-game, however it always made the mouse cursor disappear after quitting and may messed up windows colors (like colors of folder icons in file explorer). It was kinda annoying but could be easily addressed by a restart or choosing a different mouse cursor then set back to the previous one.
