Fenixp: Prince of "you won't see DLC because you have a computer"? ... No way. Lack of DRM was nice, but the moment I've heard this news, I was glad I didn't buy it yet

I think I was one of the 4 people that actually liked this game. I bought it solely because of the 0 DRM and wanted to vote with my wallet. Ended up actually enjoying it, it's very pretty and really quite fun.
I love Prince of Persia games. I'm not buying it solely because they won't release DLC - part of a story - on PC. Approach of big companies to DRM never bothered me so much, but this? This seriously pissed me off

I did it for the same reason. This was the first PoP game I played and am liking it so far. I took a break from it to play a few other games, but I'll definitely looking forward to enjoying the rest of it.

I guess I might have felt the same if I'd known about that when I bought it, but I had no idea. That said, I generally don't give a toss for DLC so I don't know that it would have prevented a sale. Nevertheless, it is a bit crap but personally I feel that the lack of DRM beats lack of DLC.

Except when content that was planned as part of the full game is deliberately cut out, so they can get you to pay for it as a separate DLC later.

That is total balls and I had no idea.

Hey, I don't know if that's the case in this particular instance, I'm just saying it has been rumored to happen in the industry.
Well, since DLC for PoP is actually an ENDING for that game, I'd say it's safe to say that's the case...

That never happened with this game. Word on the street is the ending for the game sucked and they were getting so much hate for it that they decided to close it off in a way that people enjoyed.
But what you're talking about happens mostly with fighting games these days. There will be content on the disc that's just invisible, and you pay the equivalent of $4.99 to download a 105K file that unlocks the content. It's hella shady, and it's making me question whether I want to get Street Fighter IV, which should not be something to question. Damn DLC devilry, keeping me away from seeing the Sonic Boom in all its' 3D cel-shading glory.

honorbuddy: Why all the Ubisoft hate? (I'm not asking about the Steam hate because there's been numerous topics on that already)

bansama: This: http://bansama.com/b/gaming-news/business-reasons-prevent-prince-of-persia-pc-dlc/
And while we may not ultimately miss much with it, it sets a dangerous precedent which I simply will not support.

Well written article, bansama. I agree 100%. I bought PoP solely due to the no DRM direction they took with it. Now they decide to do this? Wow, they snagged me as a new customer due to the no DRM stance and now they've lost me due to the no DLC stance. Makes you wonder what they're thinking.
As an aside: $24.99 is the sale price? Wow, I bought it on day one (retail) and paid $30 bucks. Nice sale, Steam. Nice sale.
I called FarCry 2 for Thursday specifically, my prediction was freakishly accurate.
I wish the stupid $5 DLC thing would drop 50% (or 100%).
