Okay... so now 3D Realms/Apogee are offering their games via digital download in their new store at http://www.buy3drealms.com/, is this going to affect the status of GOG's license with them for games like Manhattan Project?
I'm asking for two reasons here.
1) They have games available which aren't on GOG, such as Shadow Warrior and Terminal Velocity
2) Their downloads seem to be inferior. There's no chance to download again at a later date, and the releases aren't as complete as they would be on GOG. Shadow Warrior doesn't include the soundtrack as far as I can see and Terminal Velocity doesn't include any of the CDROM content like the video files....
So I'm guessing either GOG will be able to provide more games from them, or 3D Realms will withdraw their license and we'll lose the existing games, or the status quo will remain. Any ideas which guys?

The GOG releases of those games are probably planned already, but I don't think anyone will be able to say for sure. Unless a GOG staff member comes and teases us some more, of course.

Just passed by to fix the link. Fixed.
they're leaving with Redneck Rampage, buy now or be sorely disappointed!

Weclock: they're leaving with Redneck Rampage, buy now or be sorely disappointed!

AFAIK Redneck Rampage is made with a modified version of the Build engine, but the license is held by Interplay/whoever owns their stuff nowadays... not 3D Realms. This is also probably the reason we haven't seen a copy of the Blood source anywhere. Monolith seem quite happy to let it fade away...

license is owned by Blizzard, and that's why it's leaving.
Where did you hear Redneck Rampage is leaving?

Monolith sold the rights to blood a long time ago to a company, that was bought out by another one, and eventually became owned by Atari/Infogrames. They own the rights to it, and apparently they don't care about it. There's been lots of efforts to get the source code released, or at least get the game re-released, but Atari apparently wants to just keep the game in a shelf somewhere.

We've heard that for a few months, it's still on GOG.

Blizzard themselves, QUICK BUY BUY BUY.
Unless 3DRealms release their games on here, in the best versions possible, I'm not buying them.
Then again, 3DRealms have the business sense of a drunk sparrow who has just been run over by the space shuttle.
It is very tempting to buy from their store, but the fact that I can only download the games once completely turns me off. If they could kindly bring those games to GOG, or improve their own service, we can talk business.
In any case, I don't think the games that are here at GOG will just vanish. At least not the ones we have bought. As usual, if a game is removed from the catalogue, those of us who purchased it while it was available, will still be able to download it.

I definately share those sentiments.
