Hey, no fair. You said an older movie, and Tron came out a month after Blade Runner, according to Wikipedia. I thought about that movie but dismissed it because of what you said.

(Though I'm okay with not winning. It wouldn't have been my first guess anyway.)

Sorry for the confusion, I didn't mean "older than Blade Runner", I just meant older in general. And I wasn't thinking of Blade Runner specifically for my "replicants" answer, but rather the original Philip K. Dick novel. I'm a huge PKD fan, and the novel contains a lot of things, such as the "you are the messiah" surrogate religion, which weren't in the film but which fit into the artificial-ised landscape of that future world.

Again, my apology, I didn't intend to mislead with ambiguous wording.

Ah. Thanks for the clarification. I guess I just don't think of these movies as "older". The late 70's and early 80' were great days of artificial intelligences, from R2-D2 and C-3PO through Joshua in WarGames to Number 5 (is alive).

From your avatar it seems like you love psychotic bigger than life character. So I want to pick GladOS. But then I start thinking: "Why it need to be crazy AI if he can pick a much more interesting AI like... Wheatly? Because he's just a combination of stupid but fun AND psychotic.

So my guess will be Wheatley and AM. Because admit it, AM is just plain crazy AND bored. Nothing more scarier than an AI that running out of test subjects and things to do.
