Crosmando: How are GOG and Steam in competition? There isn't many games sold here that are also on Steam. Different gaming audience really.
Though I'm sure there's plenty of mainstream gamers on GOG forums who'd love to see GOG go into competition with Steam and start releasing most new games here, even though it's a terrible idea.
Why should GOG limit itself to selling only games that no other digital store wants to sell? (First hint: why aren't those other stores interested in those games?) Though I'm sure there's plenty of mainstream gamers on GOG forums who'd love to see GOG go into competition with Steam and start releasing most new games here, even though it's a terrible idea.
Anyway, as Steam also has entered also classic gaming more and more, ie. GOG's turf, it just makes sense GOG also tries to acquire some newer games that Steam sells too, especially if they are able to offer the GOG extra perks, like no DRM. But naturally this may be quite hard to convince for big companies like Ubisoft and EA, who rather want to keep their third-party DRM/account in all their new games.
