Shattered Horizon is a zero gravity multiplayer fps, and the first game from Futuremark (the company that made the 3dMark benchmarks).
Today it became available for pre-order, with a 10% discount.

So, anyone here waiting for this game? ;)
If this game in some small way captures the epic feeling of being in space then it could be an amazing experience to play. Even if it winds up feeling rather restrictive, it could still be an innovative twist on the conventional FPS. All in all, I think this one has every potential to shine. Whether or not it will is something that only time will tell.
Looked it up and checked it out on Steam, seems interesting, and the setting is quite new. But I'll reserve judgment until the game and the reviews hit, because I'm wary of any developer's first game.

They're the people behind the 3D Mark benchmark tests. So they're not completely new to coding, graphics, etc. They've been around for a decade or more now, I think.
Let's just hope they remember the gameplay this time. :D
That image of the Moon breaking up was stunning. For only €17.99 I may give it a go. It's also quite impressive that Futuremark have someone who know's what they are talking about on YouTube to defend the game. There are too many bedroom scientists on there who love to stick their ill-informed opinions in.

I am aware of who they are. But game development is very different to just pressing a button and benchmarking your computer.

You don't like first games, like the first, unknown, obscure Far Cry from Crytek? It was born a benchmark, then evolved to a full game.
Agreeing with Navagon, this game from Futuremark got a decade in experience from their developers, we just don't know how well it will stand in gameplay and accurate physics, but for me it looks very interesting.

I'm sure they're aware of that fact too. They haven't been oblivious to the games industry for all this time. :D But knowing the theory and putting it into practice are two different things. We'll just have to see what the reviews have to say.

Yeah i've read the comments too, cool answers. ;)
One more thing, in the game site: "Buy Now from Futuremark Store: When you buy direct from the Futuremark Store 100 percent of your money goes to the people who made the game. After you make your purchase you will be emailed a product key that will let you download Shattered Horizon from Steam."
Anyone bought from their store before? How is it?

Yeah, but in the case of Far Cry, we didn't know if the game was good until people, you know, played it. Just like in this case. I just don't want to get my hopes up yet.

Yeah I understand your point of view. There's too many hype nowadays, but it looks like it could be a cool multiplayer. We just have to wait to play it, sure.
I am a beta tester from the start and playing the game since September. Game is really fun and really different from other FPS games. Also fighting in space and making strategies is fun. Futuremark is really great company and in two months they added so much good content to game and will add so much content in future too. Game is so cheap because it is mp only go and buy it if your PC is good enought to run the game. BTW beta testers can buy the game for only $12. :D

Is there sound? Like, I have this thing in my head where since it's in space, there's no sound when you fire your weapon and all that.

Yes, there is a sound but it is blurry and not clear. Star Wars and Star Trek has also laser sounds in Space. :P

Yeah, but Star Wars and Star Trek isn't trying to be real. From what I've seen, this game is trying to recreate the sense of being in space while being able to kill people.
