As well as the Greek culture pack for preordering:

Good News: Seleucid faction will be available for free.

Bad News: The Nomadic Tribes Culture pack will be paid dlc.

Ugly News: All this will be available in October...a mere month after release...


Why would they not include those factions if they're only a month off, maybe the release date is deadlined. As much as I love total war and will probably get this game, the dlc so soon after release is a bit suspicious.

Exactly, and that (well, and my computer not really being up to it) is why I'm not going to buy the game on launch, but see how it turns out and then perhaps get it on sale with all dlc. In the meantime, I have Rome 1 to keep my attention, and can always buy Medieval 2 if I get bored of that.

Well to be fair, if I remember correctly, Shogun 2 has a metric buttload of DLC as well so it's not a shock to me that Rome 2 will be similar. Though I will definitely wait until sometime early 2014 to buy it since there will no doubt be some sort of GOTY edition with some DLC included. Unless some grand thing happens where I get showered with money for no reason.

Yeah I understand what you mean completely. I don't like it when DLC is released this way, even more so when it's announced well ahead of the release of the game. It's stuff like this that makes we wait awhile to purchase new games, and Rome 2 will be no different, even though I am supes excited for it.

Nothing new, they've been DLC-mad since Shogun 2. Medieval 2 was the last game that had a content-rich exppack.
I'll get vanilla Rome 2 but I don't think I'll be getting any DLCs. Medieval 3 might be a different story.
