Tony Warriner is working on a version of the Broken Sword Director's Cut Engine for the iPhone ("nothing official yet"), so a release is imminent.
He's also said "actually, maybe. stay tuned for news" in relation to a download version of Broken Sword 4.
Make sure you guys (with iPhones) buy both. "The remakes are funding originals" was word from Tony some months ago, it looks like Beneath a Steel Sky 2 is on the cards, they just need the funding!
The Broken Sword movie is also (officially) in the works, they need a production company. Which (once again, according to Tony) is very hard to do with their limited funding.
Makes me wonder how much GOG is giving them out of the Broken Sword 2 and 3 sales.
Already bought 2 and 3 here, and 4 on disc. Will buy 1 and 4 when/if they appear here.

They're planning a movie, and want to develop a new game... You really think that GOG sales are going to fund THAT?
How many millions does it cost to produce a game these days, compared to how many users are both on GOG, and interested in Broken Sword..?
Even if they got 100% of sales, they'd need a shitload of them.

It's possible that GOG sales will attract investors, and investors will fund it. Besides, it doesn't cost nearly as much to make a point-and-click adventure game as it would to make other types of games. And if they move towards episodic content like Telltale did, they can use the funds from the early releases to fund the rest of their project.
A movie I don't know about, unless they plan on filming and releasing it themselves.

Not at all, I just wondered. Don't get those knickers o' yours in a twist.

Sorry, no sleep.
The benefits from GOG would be less financial and more psychological. The fact they can point to GOG & say "Look, the games are STILL selling after a decade, what more could you ask for?" would probably have more value as a persuasive tool than the revenue would as a production tool.
I've done my bit though and I'll buy 1 if it ever shows up here. 4 would require a good chunk of extras since my disc version works perfectly

I love Broken Sword but haven't bought any at GOG. I totally want to buy them but not until the 1st episode is released here. Definitely.

Same here kind of, I haven't played them before so I don't know if I like them or not yet but I want to start at 1 and then work my way through if I enjoy 1. I imagine alot of people that haven't played the series before don't want to start a story based point and click adventure part way through the series.
That begs the question why isn't it on gog yet? Different publisher or just really hard to get working on modern systems?

My bet is that it has something to do with the remake for Wii and DS.
