YAY, Capcom released benchmark program for Resident Evil 5. Game is coming on 15 September for NA and 18 September for Europe. Benchmark is called GeForce 3D Vision - Benchmark but it is running without it so you can test your systems.

Stick to the benchmark, it will be more fun that playing this absolute shit fiesta of a game.
RE5 is by far one of the worst titles I've played since the Xbox 360 launched.
I'd rather be caught with my pants down playing Saints Row 2.
I wish Capcom would get their act together and make something with good controls that make sense.
A genuine LOL @ the stuck in the past RE team.

To be honest, I'm not very interested in RE anymore since the 4th. I just don't like the ways it has taken.
I mean, it can sound dumb, but I like when it's survival, 2D backgrounds with nice camera angles, and the old good zombies and not those *possessed villagers* feeling...
I only wish they had stop RE series during enough time, until gamers would die to see a new chapter.
AV Sync ON and AAx2
Pretty good performance on my computer. =)

Looks real nice -- plays like fucking Left 4 Dead. :P
1920*1200,all max, 16*CSAA, 58 fps on average : ).Will buy it once it hits 15 pounds.
Hmm, it looks like Capcom is going to make a habit of releasing benchmarking tools. While that's definitely a good idea I hope they won't start to replace proper demos.

should debut at that price.
Amazing performance, Capcom continues to make other porters look silly. I actually had to limit the framerate, running at 60FPS just looked too smooth. 30FPS with motion blur looked much more natural.
Game itself looks a bit pants, unfortunately. I loved RE4 but this one totally misses everything that made it work.
And I know that we gamers are supposed to defend this game to the death, but the racial stuff still makes me feel squicky. I'm sure it's perfectly innocent in context*, but Capcom have once again thrown context out of the window and opened the benchmark with a scene in which a hogtied white man begs for his life before being executed by a mob of black savages. The leader of the mob then sics the savages onto the (white) player character, who has to mow them down. Again, probably totally innocent in context, but without context it's ridiculous.
It's just such an astounding lack of forethought, and it permeated nearly every part of this game's promotion. How did they not learn? Or are they deliberately trying to make the game look like a relic of the 20s?

That sounds too PC for my tastes.
Now capcom have decided to take PC ports seriously, I wish they'd re-release RE4 on PC.
After playing a little RE5 I can safely say i have no interest... but i'd love to play RE4... and my gamecube is in another country. :-(
Even after dozens of fan made patches the PC version isn't quite up to the GC one.
I guess i should just buy a wii...

Capcom is not porting these games to PC. Lost Planet, Devil May Cry 4, Street Fighter 4 and Resident Evil 5 are using MT Framework engine. And games using the MT Framework are originally developed on the PC than ported to Xbox 360 and PS3. So Capcom is developing these games on PC and porting to consoles.

Agreed!
First three games are on PC, though. Not sure how they play..
GC version of RE4 was best one. was so lucky i could play it on my friends console.
As for new one i wil have to buy new gamepad (ive broke third in this year ;/).
The bench runs greate i attach screens, first one w/o AA and second one AAx8
and by the way, isnt it funny thast history probbably made a spin around. I remember times when demo versions wasn't too popular, then was some unplayable demos (like those benchmarks). And next step was almost all games had their demo versions. Console players strated getting, unplayable demos. Now Console players get demos to almost all games. PC's, often doesnt, but now we getting benchmarks (witch are demo versions u cant play ;] )

Yeah, a re-porting of RE4 would be massively welcome. I can't see it happening though.
Is there any precedent? I can't think of anything.
