The whimsical saga continues!

The Book of Unwritten Tales: The Critter Chronicles, an inevitable sequel to the comedic fantasy point-and-click blockbuster, is now available on GOG.com for only $15.99. That's 20% off, this week only!

If there's one rule that universally applies to all fantasy world, it must be the rule of sagaism. Every successful fantasy story inevitably sprouts into a full-fledged saga, continued over the course of thousands and thousands of pages, game expansion after a game expansion, and movie after movie. And that's a good thing, too! This way we get to revisit our favorite places, check up on our beloved characters, and re-live the amazement all over again. [url=http://www.gog.com/gamecard/the_book_of_unwritten_tales]The Book of Unwritten Tales made fun of everything that we know about fantasy. The sequel just had to happen, if only to make fun of sagaism as well. The creators claim that it's actually a prequel and a stand-alone expansion, but we all know what it's going on here. Sagaism!

The Book of Unwritten Tales: The Critter Chronicles could do just fine by only copying its predecessor. After all--that's what many successful sequels do. The creators, however, made damn sure to give you a plethora of fresh and funny ideas, a cast of new crazy characters, and plenty of previously unseen, beautiful and detailed locations. Point-and-click adventure fans, rejoice!

The game is available for both Windows and Mac, and as of today, the original Book of Unwritten Tales is Mac-compatible as well! You can get it 50% off, for the next 24 hours! That's not all: both games are now available in both English and German versions!

Adventurers! Fantasy fans! Troll rights activists! Grab The Book of Unwritten Tales: The Critter Chronicles now, for only $15.99 on GOG.com!
Wunderbar!

Terpor: Also who owns the rights for the Discworld games
Isn't it Psygnosis, aka Sony?

G-Doc: IMPORTANT NOTICE for German-speaking users:

The game is available in both English an German. The previous one, is being updated with a German edition right now. The newspost above will be updated as soon as we finish the upload!
Awesome, thanks!
Hmm, why is the MacOS X german installer under the Windows tab and not the Mac tab?

Terpor: So is this series as good as the Discworld 1 & 2? Also who owns the rights for the Discworld games
the first game (TBoUT I mean) really surprised me how good it was and how fluently it played... it was a first adventure game that I was able to finish without many problems in about 5 years, all the others just got too hard / too boring / I don't know...

this 2nd part seems more like a datadisc than a full sequel, but the price (and info above) states otherwise...

also, don't get scared by the rather ugly character models, the environments are really beautiful and the game is funny (not just trying to be funny)

but you can't obviously compare these to Discworld, Discworld is just too wonderfull...

Being a huge fan of TBoUT, I simply cannot imagine missing out on the sequel.

Yup! It's been loooooong time since the new game made such a strong impression on me. And than a sequel appears? No-brainer!

Quick question before I start downloading/archiving: Will you update the installer, or add a language patch to it?

Remember, as well, that DiscWorld is a licensed IP that will have probably expired by now, even if they ever get Sony on board, this is why there's faint hope of Blade Runner turning up here, for instance
We're lucky to still have the AD&D games really and some self-owned IPs like the 2000AD games and Rebellion and Lucus Arts self owned IPs (Star Wars, Indy Jones) availiable elsewhere...

It's a language pack for the PC and a separate installer for Mac.
A very Christmas-y kind of game, or rather prequel. Perfect for the season! :D
Great release. Instant buy for me!!!
Also, thank you for adding the german language packs, makes it so much sweeter :)
Looks interesting for adventure fans but not too me.
