I've refused getting a smartphone for years now, due to circumstances nobody really cares about. However, new circumstances made it necessary for me to get one, and I finally did so last week. And since I have it, I'd rather use it for my numerous trips. I generally look down on mobile games, as I don't think they're nearly as good as a "proper" videogame, but when I'm spending several hours in a bus it's good to have some extra time waster.

I already got a bunch I got on the humble android bundles (although how anybody manages to play aquaria on the phone is beyond me, and I'm really disappointed Avadon doesn't seem to work on my device) and a friend recommended me plague inc (which was as good as I would expect from a mobile game, I suppose). And I don't have the patience to look around trying to find new ones.

So, if I can get a few recommendations on stuff to kill my time on, I'd appreciate it.
(Note: I only used to have an iPhone, so I can't guarantee that all of these have made it to Android. Most of them should have, though. It's also been a few years since I went dumbphone, so I'm not up to date on what has been released.)

It depends a bit on what kind of games you would want. I myself am pretty fond of the somewhat more casual games on touch interfaces.

So, a couple of recommendations:
-Peggle
-Plants vs. Zombies
-Spider: The Secret of Bryce Manor
-Puzzle Agent 1 & 2
-Monkey Island 1 & 2
-Game Dev Story
-Final Fantasy 1-3
-Broken Sword 1 & 2
you can also install great classics on android

As far as I recall, Avadon was quite clearly labelled as being tablet-only (and it still is in my account), so I think you have only yourself to blame for that one.
Kingturn series (Kingturn Underworld, Kingturn, Kingturn Plus) - great mobile SRPGs.
9th Dawn - an open world RPG with dual stick shooter controls.
Wazhack - side scrolling roguelike.
Dungelot - tile based dungeon exploration.
Star Trader RPG - simple space trading sim.

Do you know of any English tutorial to get Heroes III working on android?
Pixel Dungeon is free, fun, and has permadeath
Heroes Call is supposed to be a good one, though I haven't played much.

I can translate it if you wish. Just give me some time, this guy is babbling a lot, I'll just write down important parts of this manual.

(an open-source recreation of the Heroes 3 engine), which is likely what's being used in that Polish video, has a [url=https://www.4shared.com/file/135714811/d0214227/vcmimanual.html]manual (which I haven't read, as downloading the PDF requires creating an account on the filesharing space where it's hosted, so I'll postpone that until I gain interest enough in trying to run the game on my phone), and a wiki, both or either of which may help.

I don't actually know how helpful those resources are, but that's about what I found.

Yeah, it appears it's very easy. Actually most of the time when this guy was not babbling he tried to explain how to install WoG which I guess you can do yourself easily. There are actually only two steps to install the game on android:
1) Download VCMI from google play
2) Copy Data, games, maps MP3 folders from your computer to app-data\eu.vcmi on your android
That's all :)

EDIT: I think WoG is a must, you cannot do it without this expansion. He also mentioned that it doesn't work on every device, sometimes it crops part of the screen and makes the game unplayable.

Why do WoG require me to have a location to be set as US? Is there anyway to bypass that?

In this video he also changed his location so I don't know. I've never played WoG, as a rule of thumb I like to play vanilla versions. I only tolerate bug fixing and hi-res patches. I don't like new contents...
