I am looking to purchase my father-in-law a general "gift card" of sorts to this website. Is this possible? Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

No it's not possible here (AFAIK), you can gift a specific game but you can't gift a "gift card".

I don't think this is possible, the best way for you to go is buying the games he want/ you want to give him as gifts....

And to keep it legit, your uncle will need to get his own account for you to send the gift to.

Here is the super-duper-ooper awesome thread that tells all about that what is gifting: http://www.gog.com/forum/general/how_does_one_make_a_gift_aka_gifting_on_gog_for_dummies/page1

If you really want him to pick the games, and/or you want it to be some sort of a surprise, perhaps you could open a GoG account in his name with an easy password to remember, purchase an American Express or Visa gift card, and write down the screen name and password you created for him (he can then change the password to whatever he wants after) and add a note that he's got an American Express (or Visa) gift card to use for his first purchases here. Then put the card with the note in an envelope and give it to him.

Don't forget to tell him about the FREE games. I'm not sure if new users have to actively add the free games to their account, but I know I did. If they're added automatically now (see my join date, I joined LONG ago) then they should show up the minute you create an account I would think. If not, you could either make a list on your note and tell him to grab those OR go ahead and grab those while you're into his account.

I don't know if this violates any sort of rule here at GoG though. It just seems like it would be a way to both surprise him and let him pick which games he wants.

seems they're added automatically(if they existed at the time anyway. when they added that recent new one I had to add it myself) they were already there when I signed up I think....unless I added them on autopilot.
