Hello, I'm considering purchasing a few games from here but I have a question about downloads.
What format are they downloaded in? Do they run from a custom downloader/launcher, are they archives/ .exe or are they CD images? I like to have physical CD versions of my purchases so CD images would be a big plus.
Thank you

Our downloads consist of one .exe file, and some games have a few addition .bin files. You can burn them to any media, and reuse as many times as you want.
What I like is the fact you need NO installer to load your games. You simply "add to cart," pay, and then download the .exe file and you are good to go. As stated you can always burn a CD of the file, but I simply have it backed up on an external hard drive.
Also, you can always just go to your Account Page and redownload anything you desire as much as you like.
I honestly believe that if gog was to ever close shop it would give its users a chance to get the files off their server one last time, but i do not see that ever needing to take place. I think gog will keep increasing in sales as newer games become more and more restrictive.
If the game is somewhat new, its usually larger than 700MB. Seems the max size of any of the files is 2GB. Im backing mine up to DVDR, once I actually get around to it.
Thanks for the replies all :)
