To start, I'm running all of this in Linux via PlayOnLinux, and generally I have been using the install scripts there, so that shouldn't be the problem.

I have run into an issue with any Dosbox game that I install. The issue is this; As soon as I start the game after a successful install, the Dosbox logog pops up, and then almost instantly closes. I have never messed around with Dosbox before, so I havn't messed with any of the settings.

Where would be a good place to start trying to track down this issue, and what are the likely solutions?

I guess the problem lies in the parameters of the config file.

You probably want to use a dosbox frontend, that will simplify that part of dosbox for you. Moreover, the frontend will provide you with a much easier way to launch the games and manage your collection

Dbgl is probably the safest bet. http://members.quicknet.nl/blankendaalr/dbgl/ as it is based on D-fend ( a very popular frontend under Windows ).

http://www.gr-lida.org/ looks nice. Haven't tried it though
