I know there is both, a wishlist AND a wishlist thread; but I'd like to see some official statement towards certain games.
I'm sure everyone wants to know if HIS favourite game has a chance of showing up on gog in the near future. Would it be possible to offer some insight into the negotiations and possibilities, or even just the information that you won't get games from a certain publisher any time soon?
I understand a lot of old games I'd like to play again are now properties of EA, although they don't revisit those IPs anymore. Examples are System Shock 2 or Crusader No Remorse / Regret.
Some other ip is Mechwarrior, especially the MW2 games, which should belong to activision. Those are just the ones which interest me, I guess others are curious about other publishers.
Is there any information you can give on this?
It's probably within GOG.com's best interest to not release the probability or likelihood of any titles/publishers.

They won't say anything until negotiations with copyright/publishing rights holder(s) are complete. Saying anything before that could jeopardize the negotiations, plus there are probably certain legal agreements in place at the start of negotiations to prevent open discussion in the first place.
I believe Microsoft currently holds the Mechwarrior IP, the more recent MW games have been released by MS Game Studios, not Activision. They got the IP after Atari started selling off old MicroProse components (MicroProse did MW3).
Agreed Microsoft most likley have the rights to mechwarrior.
Chances are that GoG has to balance wishes with costs - some titles might just cost them far too much now to aquire from the developers - whilst other developers might be willing to hand things over for much less.
Its early days so I think GoG will be taking what they can get as they can get it - if it continues to prove popular and GoG gains more influence and funds they can start to target some of the bigger groups.
That they have secured a title like Sacred (which is not that old a game) from developers is very encouraging as it is showing that htye are being taken seriously
Negotiations are a a business secret.
I also can not wait to know which games will GOG release in the future, but unfortunately we have to wait. Be patient, there are 2 new games being released every week. You will not have to wait very long for new information.
I think the recent deal with Epic Games is really huge, since they're CURRENTLY a huge player in the game market. Not to slight other developers like Codemasters, though. They're still making fantastic games, but GoW2 is simply a huge title.
More and more developers will realize these 'good old games' can still make them money even if sold cheaply. Just be patient.

I find it rather paradoxical that on one hand, EPIC's old titles are coming to GOG, while they're simultaneously telling PC gamers to go screw themselves (not in so many words, obviously).
The mind boggles.

Don't call them on their crap, just smile and nod.

Agreed entirely. I suspect some sleazy backroom dealings or conflicts with Microsoft are about..:)

It will be tough with an official statement, as there is many on-going negotiations, which we can not really talk about.
Yes, the wishlist and our personal favorites are the top priorities, but in some cases (2-3 games from the top 10) its not clear who really owns the rights. We are working on resolving it and getting through to the right owners with convincing arguments ;), but it will definitely take time.
Sadly, there might be cases, where we will not be able to resolve the 'who owns the rights' jigsaw. The toughest situation is, when the brand is owned by company X, the code by company Y and on top of that company Y is out of business or nowhere to be found.
Anyway, if it all would have been so easy there would not be a need for GOG.com
We are on it and there is some quite some good old content coming :)
