Do know if privateer can do multiplayer network games (dogfighting) sort of thing?

AFAIK both Privateer games were single player only games.
There have been couple of remakes of Privateer:
Wing Commander: Privateer Remake was the first one build using Vega Strike Engine. The original site has been down for ages but it can still be dowloaded from files section of Wing Commander Universe sourceforge page.
Wing Commander: Privateer Gemini Gold was branched from the Remake project as some people felt it was not faithful enough to the original Privateer.
There is also Privateer: ASCII Sector, a roguelike RPG based on Privateer game. In it you can walk around places and your own ship. Boarding enemy ships have also become possible recently. If you don't mind ascii graphics or like roguelikes in general, you may find this project interesting.

Wing Commander Armada was the multiplayer one.

When playing Privateer i find the spaceship movement a bit jerky does anyone know how to fix this?
