I think I'll get this off Steam. Having games locked away inside a vault where they can't accidentally catch on fire is a blessing. Besides, you're much more willing to reinstall one of your older games if all you have to do is click on it a couple of times from a drop-down menu.
For Adhonorem, you should check sometimes at www.play.com, prices for new games are between 35 -45 @ and free delivery. That´s where i bought it

I understand the appeal, and I feel the same way, however getting the steam version is not supporting the no drm model. Getting the steam version supports the steam model..
i'll buy the ps3 version :D!!!!!!!!!!!!
hehe... ars technica is hinting that they're only doing this to prove the point that having no DRM is bad for business.

don't prove them right!
Amazing, maybe Ubi is finally getting the message that we hate this intrusive crap on our computers. If they of all people start going no drm then maybe it will convince ea (highly doubt it but one can dream) to follow suite.

Thanks Tomusqueka
I just ordered the special edition from play.com for €35. Great deal for a special edition without any drm!!

If anyone here goes through amazon.com, I would encourage you to take a couple minutes and put up a positive review, highlighting the non-inclusion of DRM.
I play and love this game on 360, but I reviewed the PC version just so I could get it voiced that I think this is an amazing approach to game publishing.
I think Ubisoft may be trying to make up for their fatal blunder regarding the DRM for Rainbow Six Vegas 2.
The game itself is pretty shitty. You can't die and there's been maybe ONE puzzle in the 3-4 hours I've played of it. Some people are telling me it gets better later on and that its a short game so i might as well finish it.
Good move from Ubisoft. Shaun White Snowboarding - PC is also has No - DRM.

Gamerkought: That's right! Ubisoft, who added Securom to Far Cry 2, is shipping Prince of Persia with NO DRM. From what I've heard, not even a disc check!
Way to go ubi, I hope their sales on the PC are great! :D

Let's hope now Ubi removes the activation check and disc check from Far Cry 2 PC. :)
I have FC2 for the PC -- thanks to Amazon having it on sale for like $18 during Black Friday sales -- though ain't installed it.
This is Ubi's stance on the thing:
"You're right when you say that when people want to pirate the game they will, but DRM is there to make it as difficult as possible for pirates to make copies of our games...A lot of people complain that DRM is what forces people to pirate games but as PoP PC has no DRM we'll see how truthful people actually are. Not very, I imagine."
Ubisoft's made the first move; how will PC gamers respond?

I'm going to go ahead and say that PC gamers will pirate it.

when isn't this the case though? there's a pirated version of l4d that does single player only.. what a waste of time.
