A pity, I just wanted to start one...

Anyway, I'm not sure what the sense of this concept should be?
Reward buyers?
Get cheaper games for buyers?
Increase backlog of the regular buyers even further?
Spread the game addiction until our economy collapses totally under the weight of procrastinators and dessperively lethargic gamers?

You could make a game show out of gog and give away prizes to lucky winners you do stupid thinks like those japanese Takeshi's Castle thingys.
That would be fun to watch.
gog could also giveaway hookers and coccaine to each 250.000 sold copy of each game or something.

No don't get me wrong...
As long as gogs makes enough profit out of it and doesn't change too much I'm fine with it. I don't like most changes, most people here don't otherwise they weren't looking for good OLD games.

The problem I see here is that I have difficulties giving postives answers to these questions:
What's in for gog to even think about your idea?
Will it improve the majority of the users satisfaction?
Will the bickering part of gog's users abuse the new feature to complain even more?

Honestly, what they do now is pretty good.

No subscription. Subscription means recurring costs, which I hate. I'm ok paying once for something that I want, but I wouldn't pay a monthly fee for games for example. That's one of the reasons I don't play MMOs. I have little time to play games anyway so why waste it with grinding pointless enemies and pay $15/month subscription when I can play only like 10 hours/month.

Or worse, with some MMOs you have to grind just to get in game cash to pay in game bills like for your in game house and mail and auctions. *Shiver* ugh, when gaming becomes work is it really a game?

Oh btw Steam is great! It's much better than...

...Capsule or Origin :-)

But really whenever possible I buy games here instead of on Steam because of the DRM restrictions. I like Steam sales and have a large selection of games there, and for multiplayer purposes there are benefits to having an online client, but, for much of what I like to play GOG does it best. It's hard to justify re-buying something here that I already have elsewhere just for the sake of convenience; but, done it a few times and got some of the classics here that I have on physical CDs (or some floppies) as a backup.

Some kind of subscription model would work for some cross section of gamers, there are certainly enough people out there who don't mind paying subscriptions; but, I prefer not.

Edit: And also sleep? what is that?

= tax dodging, minimum wages, offshoring.

But hey, if that keeps the price of games down, I'm all for it.
