tarangwydion: The launcher requires internet connection to "decrypt" the game data into an executable installer during the installation process. If you copy that decrypted installer, you can back it up and later on you can install without internet connection.
So, DRM-free, but with an effort :-)
I disagree with that. That file is obviously not meant for the customer to obtain, otherwise they would just have one download that as opposed to downloading an installer that required the internet and then having to copy an installer before it is deleted.
It would be like claiming that Steam is DRM free because one can go get some files and put those into the game folder to make it work without Steam.
Edit: Btw, I notcied an interesting looking first person perspective indie RPG on some site, but cannot remember what the game was called or the site. I know it was not Indievania, Desura, or GG. I know it is a long shot, but anyone have any idea?
gyokzoli: Recently GamersGate don't use the launcher for the DRM free games so those are really DRM free.
And apparently GG has changed recently. May have to check it out, I got some free game I can test that with. Thank you for the info.
