Ben Affleck signs on to play Batman in the "Man of Steel" sequel. Hey, it couldn't be any worse than "Daredevil", could it?
Well... I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. If there's a movie "series" that's had surprising performances, it's this one.

Mind you this isn't the Dark Knight series, it's the Super Man series. The Dark Knight is continuing with it's own thing. They aren't pulling a Marvel which actually incorporated all of the movies together.
If only Affleck could act...
I'd be on board if Affleck was directing, not so much with his acting though.
Affleck gets a bad rap regardless of the good films he's made on both sides of the camera, but seriously, he is not Batman. He's like halfway in between the awkward average guy Michael Keaton and the more stern and tough persona of Christian Bale. I can not for the life of me see him as Batman, especially with someone like Snyder at the helm who will likely just try to emulate what Nolan did. I really don't think this is going to be a Joker situation. He may be all right, but it's just that the film series is all ready taking a stretch by making the next Superman movie a team-up. I do not trust this to be that good.

If Batman's in it, it's a Batman movie. Sorry Supes.
Matt Damon for Lex Luthor?

mondo84: Matt Damon for Lex Luthor?
I actually think Matt is a great actor, better than Ben who has some aforementioned big time directing chops. I could see Matt pulling that off though he does seem a tad young.

and if I may derail my own thread, since they seem to be leaning toward an eventual Justice League movie, lets hear about some casting ideas! :D

You know, I want to be skeptical. But that's what they say when they cast Heath Ledger as Joker....

Joke all you want, I'd pay to see this.
I'm going to make a very unpopular comment here.

I thought Ben Afflek was better as Daredevil than Heath Ledger was as the Joker.

Now let me explain, Heath Ledger was a great villian in the movie. His expressions and manerisims really sold me on just how twisted and dark the character was. Ledger, being the great actor he was, gave an absolutley stellar performance. But I never felt like I was seeing the Joker. The Joker is the Clown Prince of Crime and the arch foil of the Worlds Greatest Detective. He is not a simple anarchist who lick his lips constantly. As for Daredevil, well he is blind right? That means that he doesn't know what a facial expression is supposed to look like. Which is why you need an incredibly wooden actor to play him, enter Ben Afflek.
