I would love to see Neuromancer (yeah, the OLD C-64, but also PC) game updated and running on XP / Vista. If I had the talents, I'd try a conversion myself.
From the FAQ:
Please add *insert game/publisher here* to the GOG library!
GOG has a handy dandy that you can use to post your requests for games on GOG. Just make sure you search the wishlist to see if anyone else has already added the game you want and if they have, vote for it instead of creating a new entry. Additionally, if you wish to simply discuss the games you want to see on GOG, you can post in the [url=http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/official_beg_thread_amp_quot_this_game_belongs_on_gog_amp_quot]Official Beg Thread: "This Game Belongs on GOG!".
Will you be adding *insert game/publisher here* to the GOG library?
GOG does not release specific information on prospective games or publishers until they already have agreements in place. They will not comment on who or what they are trying to get, only what they do have. Check the site's main page for news on what is coming soon, it gets updated every Thursday.
Please read the FAQ, and welcome to the forum :-)
Actually I'd like to see a Neuromancer remake, with a more polished and refined interface. I think Neuromancer has a lot of potential for a modern remake. The cyberpunk setting is very seldom touched on. Of course, let's hope that it's not Bethesda who's going to be fighting for its license
Neuromancer would be cool, definitely. In general, I'd like more early Interplay titles. GOG: Hurry before they go bankrupt.
As for the FAQ, what makes the "official beg thread" official, anyway? These threads are harmless, and a good way to remember these golden oldies.

Right now its not so bad, but when the FAQ and "official" beg thread were created, we had more "I want this game" threads than we had Steam threads. When GOG already provides a wishlist for us to use to tell them what games we want, what is the point of multiple threads asking for them? OK, so you want to discuss some of the games you want, do we really need 500 threads of:
GOGer 1: "I want this game!"
GOGer 2: "Use the wishlist"
GOGer 3: "Yeah, that game was cool"
GOGer 4: "I liked the sequel better"
GOGer 5: "*insert game publisher here* owns the rights now"
GOG staff: "We're working on it"
Then the thread dies. Better to have one thread where we discuss all the different games we want than to clutter the forums with multiple pointless threads like that.

Surely a good thing, eh? :-)
No, but seriously, I don't really see the harm in them. They often remind me of old games I had forgotten, and sometimes they will spark some interesting discussions about the games in question.
Ideally people posting threads like these should make some effort explaining why Game X should be on GOG. That would provide us with more interesting posts and potential for more "on-topic"-discussion (yeah, I'm aware that almost everything is on-topic in this forum, but more threads about specific good old games that aren't on GOG are always welcome, and IMO more "on-topic" than posts about Steam or actresses or crazy Russian women).

There is no harm in creating any thread, but it might be annoying to some people. Personally, I find threads that are simply extended wishlist requests to be really annoying (and pointless). If you are going to take the time to post something about a particular game, at least make the effort to create a topic of discussion. Those are not annoying and, like you said, can become very interesting. Unfortunately, this thread at least started out as the annoying kind and now it is completely off-topic.
And ironically, all the off-topic-bits are here because of the FAQ-post. :-)
Perhaps the off-topic question should have been asked in the FAQ thread then? :p
These type of threads become more of an issue if its a well known oldie, and we get a new "Game X should be on GOG!" thread every few weeks. If it's always a different and perhaps unusual game that many people don't know, it could provide good discussion and also boost its wishlist position.
Well, I hadn't looked deep enough to see the wishlist (sorry!) but I'm glad some other people remember the awesomeness of Neuromancer. We played that game for 48 hours straight (taking shifts when someone needed sleep).
