I seriously doubt its going to happen - if you read up on their non opinion on DRM ie - sounds like a serial based offline solution for games.Doesnt sound drm free to me.
Seriously? Ueamatsu is just a composer, not a programer or game designer. If you like his music just buy a CD or whatever. Why is everyone getting so excited about his name?
shameless cash grab from devs with misleading credits for a painfully generic fantasy plot and a poorly described gameplay vision statement.

it makes me sad that so many have shown such poor judgement.

Because Uematsu is a GOD!!!!!! Lol, it's just a cash grab, but it is an effective one. Even the composer, if well-enough-known, can have a huge impact on people's decisions. Even I will admit that I will look more closely at a game I originally had no interest in if they advertise that, say, Akira Yamaoka is on the team. However, I will also admit that a composer alone does not sway me, but merely grabs my attention. Otherwise, I'd have bought Shadows of the Damned and Chainsaw Lollipop by now.

nijuu: a serial based offline solution
Some GOGs apply such as well, though pre-set-up so it uses the same key for all installations. For example Neverwinter Nights (where a unique key needs to be requested and manually set up for multiplayer).

Except the times when GOG accepts it is for multiplayer. Even as a SP game this game still needs that key activation even of offline. That method isnt acceptable by GOG for SP games

Music can be a motivator but I need to hear more about the battle gameplay before I support this.

I do appreciate video game music though, so I am backing this. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1916334303/video-games-live-level-3-game-composers-of-the-wor
Kickstarter-only items? How about NO.
I've never heard of the guy. Hm, the pitch video and front page reminds me of Old-School RPG KS by Braithwaite and Hall. A lot of vague "old school", "non-linear", "L.A. Noire veteran developer, pardon, QA analyst"... But hey, I can't hardly judge given I've pledged for a couple of not so very specific projects done by my favorite devs. I guess it's a real thing for fans. I wish them good luck delivering the satisfying product.

sounds like a great project... but i see no images of the game in trailer...

Starmaker: Kickstarter-only items? How about NO.
In my eyes EVERYTHING Kickstarter-only game-content is a betrayal on the Kickstarter-Idea to create work of art that can become a classic!

I´ve nothing against exclusive Collectors-Editions, free AddONs and so on.
But offering anything that influences the game itself and will not be availible for nonBakers is---in my eyes---very unkicking!

Elmofongo: ...
Thanks.

I have played a bit of Final Fantasy, so I have heard his work. He is certainly prolific. I liked it but I just never reached the phase when I felt the urge to search for the composer's name and his soundtracks. Well, one learns new facts every day :).

on the KS page:
"Lead Programmer: Unannounced
Due to the Empire of Alexander's national interests, we cannot announce this prodigal programmer's name"

What the hell does this mean? The Empire of Alexander, does he mean Greece? If so, maybe they want to hire this guy from Bohemia Interactive who was arrested in Greece... ;-)
