The first part of the award-winning Unreal series is now available on GOG.com.

Unreal Gold features over 47 eye-popping single player missions, 20 multiplayer levels with 5 different game types, ruthlessly intelligent enemies, each with unique personalities and an arsenal of over 13 deadly weapons. Unreal Gold comes with Return to Napali mission pack for only $9.99.
It's SO WORTH IT.
If you've never played it, buy it :D! The soundtrack is just amazing.
And now I can be helpful too! :)
Ok, one question - will this version work in Vista 32-bit and a dual-core processor? Because if it does then you have a sale. (Looks meanly to the corner of the room at the Win98 version that doesn't work).

All GoG games have been tweaked to work with Vista and XP so go right ahead and buy it :D
Grr ish. I've downloaded it 4 times now, twice through the straight link and twice through gog's downloader. I've run setup both normally and as administrator and all four times it has told me that the download is corrupted and to re-download it. What should I do?

hi-five, you called that it was coming, I called this tuesday. :)
Sorry, being a n00b I didn't notice each game has its own message board, just posting back here in the news section to say it works now (sixth download ;) ) I changed my DNS server back to my ISP from OpenDNS, disabled Diskeeper automated disc defragmenting and disabled (temporarily) my anti-virus (AVG). But what I think actually fixed it was the download was clocking in at 237MB then about 20MB into the second last download it stopped and when I redownloaded again it was now 240MB. So maybe the issue was on the server, I'm just happy I finally get to relive an old classic. Thank you GOG.
best game on gog.com yet! If you continue with those high quality releases, you might become a serious competitor to steam for my pc purchases.

You should take a peek at the Fallout games forums. See how busy it is? Fallout is their cash cow.

See you next Tuesday!
Wow one of the best releases of GoG so far :)
Like I said in a thread before imo just the soundtrack would worth the price to me (once they get a nice mp3 version up ;) )
Anyway it really got me in the mood so I went ahead and bought this, UT and Gothic :)
Thanks GoG and Epic :)

obviously I was just expressing my own feelings; as much as I like classic rpgs, I never was a huge fan of the Fallout series, and so far to me Unreal 1 is clearly the best game available.
I wasn't hinting at purchase numbers, just my personal preferences towards digital distribution platforms - steam still is my favourite one, if just by sheer numbers of games and their weekend deals.
Also I was drunk when I wrote that.
Great article for an even greater game. Well done :D
